Your biggest financial blunder?

350k crib, sure is motivating though.

Only reason this is a blunder with the shape of the US the way it is now.. tied down now and couldn't just duece out if I wanted.

Oh well, one thing off the bucket list.

I spent 5k on a tv I never use, I also once bought an EMD domain for 5k that still hasn't been put to use.

1) buying my first house August 2007 (height of the housing market here in the UK)

2) fixed my first mortgage at 6.09% for 5 years - just getting out of it now going down to 2.99%

2) sold my gold 2006 before a big spike

Four divorces is pretty damn bad, but this makes your life worth living.

Did you get a good price for the movie rights, at least?

Movie Stars, Rock Stars, Directors, Professional Athletes, and Models already have the Multiple Marriage thing down Pat.

My Motto has always been, "Onward & Upward". No sense in wallowing or looking back.

My experience in Marriage is very similar to my Business ventures.

The prospect of a New and Potentially rewarding adventure is what attracts me. Sometimes they work out and other times they don't.

With each failure in both Marriage & Business I learn new things to carry over into my next Venture.

I've never been one to let failure or unfavorable outcomes stop me from moving forward.

I also ALWAYS have had GREAT times and MEMORIES from failed ventures both personal and business related.

To me it's just a part of "actually" living and forging ahead.

WARNING!!! Old Man about to start Rambling some............Lulz

In my early 20's I attended a sales seminar and the speaker used a Traffic Light Analogy to help us understand how we are already are trained to handle problems and set backs.

He said that if we're afraid to drive anywhere for FEAR of a traffic light turning RED and stopping us we would never get/go anywhere in life.

We don't wait until we KNOW that all the lights along the way to our destination will be green to drive somewhere. We get in our car and just start our journey. If we come to a red light we just STOP "temporarily". Then when the light becomes green again we continue towards our destination.

Now, there may even be things worse than a RED light or a STOP sign. Road construction or accidents that cause us to make DETOURS are also a very likely possibility on the way to our destination. They are an inconvenience at best.

Heck, there's even a chance that we ourselves could get into an accident and die on our way. But this does NOT keep us from leaving the house.

So in Business, or anything you do in life, you decide on a destination and then START the journey. You don't just HIDE in your cave out of FEAR of dangers or obstacles. If you do, you'll never actually LIVE your life or achieve anything of worth/value/substance.

So back to me, I enjoy having a Woman with me. But, I'm an Old School Alpha Male who believes that "I" am the Captain of the Marital Ship and my wife is the First Mate whose counsel I seek but "I" have the final say and therefore also carry the burden of having to correct Unwise decisions. I FULLY understand that my First Mate will be burdened and suffer too due to a mistake on my part. But, I can't abide with debating and arguing for any length of time as it detracts from TAKING ACTION. As any good Leader does/should do, I always do my BEST to satisfy the needs & desires of my partners as often as is possible to keep the relationship amicable for each of us.

The women I've been Married to "claimed" to understand this and "supposedly" thought this is what they wanted in a partner. I guess reality was a bit different than what they had imagined. Lulz

Unfortunately for my mates I've been into NLP for so long that it's just second nature to me and I always see feminine manipulation coming from miles away. This seems to piss women off for some reason, go figure. LOL

After 4 failed Marriages the "common" denominator seems to be that LOOKS and GREAT SEX are what caught my attention first and then AFTER those I tried to see if "our" mindsets were aligned enough to make a good partnership.

I seemed to have "thought" that I could overlook or accept certain things that didn't match in order to have a Good Looking partner and Great Sex. I've never been much of a One Night Stand type of guy. I'm the same with my business ventures. I look for Long Term Opportunities, not short term ventures.

I'll throw out this observation of mine that has proved out in every Marriage & Business Partnership I've been in. ALL "small" problems/annoyances that persisted prior to marriage or partnering up got MAGNIFIED by TEN FOLD after getting married or forming the partnership. (Easier to deal with in the Business Partnerships though. lol)

Those things DO NOT get better or become less annoying. THEY GET MUCH WORSE!! For both sides.

Kinda like pulling a comb's teeth lightly across your arm from time to time is no big deal. But do it like 100 times in a row on the same spot with increasing pressure and it DOES become a big deal. Lulz

Ok, enough of my Reddit posting here. LOL

I pissed off a cool quarter mill thinking I knew how to build and run a restaurant. I would say that was my single greatest life lesson I have learned to date.

Everyone should remember this, restaurants are a fucking nightmare, everyone thinks they can run one and majority fail (see pro atheletes for some examples).

A lot of guys make this mistake. In Asia, marriages are arranged, where looks only matter a bit, and sex is an unknown.

Ironically, those countries have growing birth rates, and the West has a declining birth and marriage rate.

Not speaking from experience, since I have met very few women of character and none of them single, but I think character matters.

Running traffic to Copeac before the payments stopped coming in. That was a $50,000 lesson on only working with networks you trust and doing due diligence.

That sucks. And your sister? What did she say?

She came out fine. When she was driving she noticed black smoke coming out of the hood so she stopped the car to step outside and look. Walked around the hood and noticed the smoke getting worse and worse so she reached back into the car for her bag and then a few moments later smoke started coming through the hood.

The car was actually in the middle of the street so when the firefighters came they used their truck to push the car off to the side. Other than that, the back of the car was in good condition, the fire never reached that far. But nevertheless 85% of the car was completely gone. Which fucking sucks because I purchased a GPS unit 2 days beforehand and had it in the glove compartment.

Based on what my relatives told me, my sister was a in a bad state afterwards. Just really regrettable for driving the car and burning it to ashes; literally. She cried everyday from what I heard. I would imagine, heck destroying such a big asset of one of your siblings isn't an easy thing to swallow.

I reacted to it fine. I didn't scream at her or keep bringing up the topic over the years. I guess shit happens. I let her get off easy by paying back only half the car cost.

There was a time when Copeac had their own forum here @ WF.

lol not sure I was around for that, but I do remember Krongel being a moderator here I think (could be wrong). Even though there was a time they were reputable, when rumors start flying around and payments get delayed I now won't hesitate to stop working with a network immediately.

I also had Apple stock back in 07 - 08 when the bubble burst. Sold over 200 shares per the advice of what I now know to be a fucking retard...

Could have sold it anytime in the last year and really changed my situation. But alas, I listed to an "expert" and didn't follow my gut, which told me there was no way that the largest tech company on the planet wouldn't rebound. Same fuckwit also suggested I invest in Microsoft -- I shoulda known.

I don't even think about the losses on this one. But it's hardcore, since the stock dipped as low as $14 per at the time I sold.

I lost big by selling, when I should have been buying, which is what I would have done if I hadn't tried to be "practical" and consult a financial expert. Fuck me!
