Bro, all that lawyer is doing is taking your money. Unless that dude lives in the US, nothing is going to happen. And even if he does live in the US, the cost of discovery and litigation is going to cost a shit-ton of cake. Not to mention, the dude might be broke and own jack-shit, so even if you do win the case and get a judgment, what are you going to get? Are you going to garnish his BK wages? In short, unless you lost tens of thousands of dollars and you can actually recover something, there's no point.
I mean, I don't know the particular facts, so I could be completely wrong, but most of the time it's prudent to just move on. Lesson learned.

I get this shit all the time with my aff's, and in some cases people straight up steal my products, just sell them directly through paypal etc. don't focus too much on your losses, or you won't notice today's losses, tomorrow's opportunities, and this quarters bottom line.
I just found a guy today that was frauding my main product selling it himself directly through paypal, so I bought it to doc it. Took me 20min to get him to at least stop, probably lost a bit of cash through him but not going to chase bullshit too much. Here is his response after a quick note to him, dispute & scam claim to paypal, blocked him from promoting me at clickbank, exposed him to his host, and his siblings
I can tell he's 100% bullshitting but am I really going to chase a schmuk broke scam fuck? Might play with him a bit, fuck his PR up a bit, but even that isn't productive. Just fix it, document it, laugh, move on.
