Thoughts on Joe Paterno?

From the article:

"The next day, Gricar’s Mini Cooper was found in a parking lot in Lewisburg, about 50 miles from his home in Bellefonte. Gricar’s cellphone was in the car, but not his laptop, wallet or keys, which were never recovered. Months later, the laptop was found in the Susquehanna River without its hard drive, which was discovered later. It was too damaged to yield any information. On the fourth anniversary of his disappearance, investigators revealed that a search of his home computer yielded a history of Internet searches for phrases like “how to wreck a hard drive,” according to a report at the time in The Centre Daily Times"

Sex with children is soo fucked up there is not enough space on the internet for me to express my true feelings about it. And I'm not talking about an 18 yr old kid banging his 15 and half year old GF.

If he saw an adult having sex with a child he should have (A) punched the scumbags lights out, and (B) dragged that unconscious body down to the police station -- and I mean real cops, not the fucking campus police.

Campus police work alongside State College police and have the power to arrest. A bunch of them work for both departments. Like you said, I just don't why the assistant coach didn't stop it when it was happening.

lol knew it wouldn't take long:

Paterno and the others believed Sandusky was enough of a threat to children in 2002 to ban him from having youth sports camps on the Penn State campus or from bringing children to the school's football facilities. Apparently, they just didn't believe Sandusky was enough of a threat to call police about their concerns.

That last line is wrong. They had to know he was threat. You don't walk on in an adult raping a child and then not know he was a threat. It's clear they just put their fingers in their ears and went lalalalala.

Edit: By the way, I was just reading over the grand jury investigation pdf again and it said that that 2002 incident was never reported to any police including the University police. (page 12)

This was indeed a cover up.

The absolute breakdown here is amazing. Everyone involved should have gone to the police, even the GA that initially witnessed this happening. If the police didn't do anything they should have kept going up the chain of command until something was done. Sandusky should have been fired on the spot and those that were involved in the cover up should also be fired.

If I would have witnessed this happening there is absolutely no way he would have made it out of that locker room in one piece. Then again I have children and am like a mamma bear on crack to protecting them or when it comes to anyone harming children in any way. As adults it is our duty to protect children, even if they aren't our own.

:disgust:

This story has been all over the news and I must say I really have no way of putting this into words... For those of you who dont know, there is huge controversy as to whether or not Joe Paterno should be fired from his position as head coach for the Penn State football team based on a sexual assault scandal involving a former assistant coach in the program.

More info here: Penn State, Joe Paterno and failure of power - ESPN

4.) Paterno reported the incident, and organized a meeting between the athletic director, the head of campus police, and the graduate assistant to explain what the GA saw in the shower.

Did he actually meet with the head of campus police? If he did then this is bullshit.

In other news, Westboro baptist church plans to picket on Saturday. I have a feeling there will be violence. 40,000 drunk students vs 100 picketers?

Sad situation.

Mike McQueary.

How can he look in the mirror each day.
He walks in on a 60 year old man sodomizing a 10 year old boy and his first thought is to leave and call "him daddy" on the phone.

No thought of taking that child of that horrendous situation?
What a fucking piece of shit.
He should burn with Sandusky.

What was a 10 year old boy doing in a university locker room again? Where are the kids parents in all of this?
