Thoughts on Joe Paterno?

Story may actually get way worse if you can believe that. The alleged rumors are that the victims were being auctioned off to donors of Sandusky's Second Mile foundation, and its likely some of those donors were also PSU supporters.

I feel terrible for the victims and I feel terrible for Penn State. This is an absolutely horrible tragedy.

He preyed on kids from the charity he started for underprivileged kids. Lots of single parents who worked all day and stuff. Letting them hang with a big member of the charity and the community doesn't seem all too bad in such a situation.
 
To all who are don't see any wrong in what Paterno did obviously don't have any children. Yes, he should have been fired. But what about McQueary that fucking pussy ass excuse just let that kid be raped. He's still employed. FUCKING BULLSHIT. PSU is just trying to make the media happy by firing Paterno, if they really cared this sack of shit would also be out the door.

And to all you stupid fucks saying he didn't know what had happened... what did he report to his boss? did he make a call saying a student saw something happen I don't know what happened but since he said something happened I am calling you?. . .. that fucker knew he just didn't give a fuck AND he does a have a moral responsibility as a Coach to do the right thing which he clearly did not.

I can not for the life of me understand how McQueary could have just walked away from something like that. He should have hammered the old pervert right into the ground then and there. Seriously what kind of man just walks away from something like that?????

I guess some people are unable to connect the dots . So in 98 Sandusky gets busted , Mother wearing a wire he admits to fooling around with son . And he all of a sudden retires in 99 after being a coach w/ Jo Pa for 30 + years , Jo Pa doesn’t go to retirement dinner , Fast forward to 02 , where McQueary see’s him raping a 10 yr old , at the time he was a GA , (granted well over 95 % + GA DON’T get offered coaching staff position ) MM tells Jo Pa what he saw and Jo sends it up the chain . The outcome is that JS can’t bring kids into complex anymore LOL . Granted JS kept bringing kids into complex . I have a hard believing that Jo Pa didn’t know about 98 , if that is the case when MM told him in 02 just the words Boy and shower should have sent off alarms . MM get a coaching position , the DA that was investigating is missing and the news story comes out the week after Jo Pa past Eddie Robinson coaching mark. This has cover up written all over it .

What does it matter ? Are you assuming that this is the first time that Jo Pa knew that JS was a sicko . It doesnt add up . What is a 60 year old man doing naked in a shower with a 10 year old ? If doesnt matter if MM said they were horsing around or he was getting raped , this is not normal .

I am going to assume that you are a PSU fan and that you dont have children , becuase you have been the Jo Pa defender the whole thread . Best case for him is that morally he should have done more , Worst case - he covered all of this crap up. Only time will tell - But i have a feeling that this ends very badly for many .

No I am not a Penn State fan. I think Joe Paterno had a major lapse in judgement. I do not think the focus of this scandal should be on him, however.

I agree that this whole mess shouldnt be just about one man , and if it was it should be about that sick MF'er JS . However Jo Pa is PSU football and he has always been about doing the right thing . Many others are just as guilty or more guilty than Jo Pa however He is the face of PSU football and he had to go . It is sad that his legacy will be about this scandal becuase he really has done so much good for PSU but to turn your back on these kids is just sick .

This thread is a moral cockfest with people saying what "they would of done" and persecuting someone based on what the media (which all of you say is biased and wrong in most other threads).

Everyone condemning him is a moron, everyone defending him is slightly less of a moron (innocent until proven guilty, hur)

And as for the 28yr old who saw the kid gettin it in the shower, seriously, what would you do if you saw that image? "youd get up there and beat down the old man". I'd say for a sane, normal person, going into shock and calling the person you trust most is a reasonable action.

my thoughts, worst case, ganging up on paterno is like sending the DEA to a street line pusher and leaving the boss alone.
