And I hate to brag, but I was think more of like buying my nephews and nieces good presents and helping sending them to private schools and like driving a £30K car instead of a £10K car.
For me... I think thats kinda of boasting... which I am not comfortable with at all, and I also dont want to cause feeling of negativity etc.
Like Joseph and his brothers (A biblical story - and even went as far as trying to kill him becoz he was their fathers favorite).
Maybe its better to help on a small level and just say you dont do other shit and keep the other stuff on the lowkey(i.e I dont party every other weekend and buy bottles or travel every other month to a new country and drive a £30K benz thats paid for in cash).

People are going to hate you for something, it might as well be for success. I'm not sure how anyone can call it "bragging" when you pay to better your family's lives. Most of the time it's jealousy. Shrug it off. Bragging is wearing a $10k watch and calling people a peasant because they don't earn as much as you do.

Driving around in cars that cost more than most peoples houses make you a target. Keep a low profile if you don't want to be noticed. Personally I could give a shit what people think about me.
I always tell them I'm in the Internet business not the banking business. If they want a loan go to a bank. Most of my family is successful so I don't have this problem as much as some might.

I'm getting mixed messages from different posts on this thread (and on other threads on this topic - including on other forums) - for some people it's okay to reveal your deepest secrets to immediate family and even 1st-degree relatives. Others wouldn't even out their least profitable niche to their sister.
Tell them what they NEED to know and keep the rest to yourself. Not much NEEDS to be known by others about your business.
I mask my wealth through my door-to-door toothbrush sales. Everyone assumes I'm ballin' from that instead of my IM ownage. Colgate FTW!

I've never had anyone really ask more than a casual "oh...what do you do" to which I answer "web developer" and they give a polite "oh cool" and then the conversation turns elsewhere.

Conversations with my friends rarely are about business, but when they are it is because they are interested in something I'm doing and they don't judge me negatively for being successful because odds are that they're also ambitious and working towards a goal they have.
If your friends judge you negatively for being successful (or worse try to leach off your success) it might be time for some new friends.

I hate talking about business all the time. Friends of mine in the marketing biz who won't shut up with the constant business talk are very tiresome. While in the company of relatives, discussing my business is actually a relief because they're very conventional.
