EOTW Contest - THE WINNERS!!

Congrats. Dog snoggie will forever be ruled by WF.

Nope, the big algo update coming in the "next months or few weeks" will penalize all these sites and they will be removed forever. Soon, doggie snuggie sellers will get their revenge.

Obviously, google's proposed algo update was a direct result of this competition.

I didn't do a whole lot on my main sites besides throw them up there. Spent most of my time trying to rank for parallel terms and was doing well there, but once the web 2.0s started flooding 'dog snuggie', some of that shit started spilling over into where I was working.

Then I got sidetracked on other projects, and was like screw it, so I started redirecting most of my stuff to 2dogs1snuggie.com

It was fun though, and I noticed the 1 legitimate EMD out there shut down their site after a few weeks.

How to come in 71th

1. Drink bottle of veuve clicquot
2. Compose single page 250 wrd website
3. Spend $25 on the fiverr seo from some guy, potstem or something
4. LOL
5. Repeat steps 1 and 4 as need

I actually would like to know how Wright managed to get #2 spot on both Yahoo and Bing.

I never managed to get in the top-10 of these 2 fucked up SEs. (Not that I care, but still curious)

Via the purest of whitehat methods as advocated by Cutts & Co.

That, and a shit load of links.

I don't want any of the prizes. I was just doing it to fuck around plus I am not technically allowed to win anyway. You guys can give my shit to #3...or #1 or whatever. The only prizes I'd want anyway are nanexo and bofus shit. But I already pay full price for BoFus tool because he is a sketchy queer. And nanexo is only giving his price to the winner (cheater).

good luck bros

P.S. Grindstone is a cheating queer and does "black hat SEO"

Since you care so much. - Just passed you.

Also no cop outs. PM address you're getting a pizza.

Congrats to Grindstone and Ly2. I guess we finally know who is the better SEO!

Also, props to Bitsdawg who has a lot more game than many of the big talkers around here.

The freedom that the increasing versatility of mobile devices afford the average person means that increasingly one can work remotely, without even having a dedicated notebook & 3G combo. It is just getting better and better for us tech-freaks!

The team at GoogleHammer.com will donate the following:
- First place: A picture of any short message/URL/username you would like written on a pair of female breasts.

I remember promising this:
The winner will receive any picture they want and/or text phrase of their choosing on GoogleHammer's corporate website, for a month (or until I remember to take it down after that period).

This is a Gay Webmaster Forum, there's going to be spinning dicks involved. So whatcha want under one Pash?

I'm not an SEO guy, but here's somethings I've noticed from being a mailer.

I use to buy cheap, but good looking sites on flippa so the newsletters looked legit and this helped me get white lists and what not. The sites would generally have a decent amount links and so so content.

I'd generally look to see what it was ranking for in google, yahoo, and bing. Generally they'd just be listed in google and that was fine, because I could really give a shit less about rankings (I'm a mailer), but it looks good to have something there for manual site reviews.

I noticed shortly after sending a lot of mail to yahoo / hotmail I'd start getting crawled by their bots. Then depending on some magic I'd start showing up in yahoo and/or bing. I have no idea what other factors resulted in getting included into their serps, but the email triggered the bot crawls.

I'd imagine if you bought a bunch of accounts and started sending to yourself with the domains you wanted to rank in the email body your sites would start to be included.

If I was an SEO guy and wanted to try this. I would buy a bunch of yahoo, aol, and hotmail accounts. I'd then setup a system using something like MailerKing and ResponderKing to send mail back and forth between all of the accounts and include the domain I wanted to rank in the email body. For the email body I'd take books from Project Gutenberg and the spin paragraphs. So it would work like this Yahoo Account 1 sends a new email to Hotmail Account 1. Hotmail Account 1 then sends a reply back to Yahoo Account 1. So it looks like real chatter about your site.

Perhaps the next contest we could do in a niche where the combined group efforts generate more than $3 worth of commissions? Or maybe one that would that could hold the average gay webmasters attention for more than the first day or 3? Frankly I was far to lazy to put that much effort into the Dog Snuggie niche

PS to those of you that used black hat techniques to cheat your way to the top just remember just because you won and got all the glory doesn't make what you did right!!! In some circles your behavior would have probably gone unnoticed but had you been caught people wouldn't have liked it

Did I miss the sarcasm or do seo people really think using a black hat method is cheating? Or was that actually set out in the rules? It's a genuine question and not meant to be a jab at you.

You missed it. The first paragraph was based on reality and the second was where the sarcasm came in.

Frankly SEO is kind of like pro sports. In order to win you have to take every edge you can all while covering your tracks with the most advanced techniques available to avoid detection even while put under scrutiny. Just take Lance Armstrong for example. He was probably the most drugged cyclist in history, the guy won like 7 tour de france races and yet with hundreds of drug tests he stayed off the radar. The guy had cancer and won the most difficult race on the planet a year later.

Only the uninformed, very new, MattCultists, or corporate-speaking "SEO"s will label something "black hat" as being bad or "cheating". This is mainly because anyone who has been in the industry long enough or has perspective will understand that nearly all "whitehat" methods used today were implemented at some point by the Porn/Pharma/Weight Loss Industry for marketing 5-10 years ago and became more mainstream when others saw them in use and getting results.

I'd say it's sarcasm, because nearly all of those participants in the challenge use "blackhat"-related services on this Forum or run the methods themselves for their own niches.

I would really like to see another contest that lasts like a year and put it into a difficult niche like car insurance. Something with some teeth. And a little money would be nice. Something that will truly separate the men from the boys.
