Do you give your dogs raw meat?

I'm a vegetarian, so not usually, but my kids and I got a cow heart for science a few weeks ago (those things are HUGE!), and let him eat it when we were done. That fucker buried most of it, and every day for almost a week he'd dig it up and eat a little more then rebury it. Crazy.
My boy, 6, is home schooled, and my daughter, 3, learns right along. Most of the learning I do with them is organic. What better way to learn about the pulmonary system than with a real heart? The week before we got a heart model, so they could see the 'blood' pumping in and out.
Sadly human hearts were unavailable and I didn't want to wait a week for a pig heart to arrive in the mail, so I got a cow heart at the butcher.
Recommendations for high quality pet food? I tried Orijins but that just gave my puppy mad water shits
They live 2-5 because there in the wild meaning they have to hunt for their own food and survive on the conditions that they have. They get ran over or in dog fights so they live shorter obviously. Pet dogs live longer because they are cared for and live in good conditions.

I don't feed my dogs raw food, but they do get a mix of "fresh" food with their dry food. Fresh Dog Food

My mom has always fed her dogs shit food and they end up with so many problems and never live past 9 - 10. The MOST important thing you can do is feed your dogs quality food... it will not only give you a happy & healthy dog, but it will also save you money in the long run.

No, that's not what I meant. It's good you give your children hands on experience with that kind of stuff.
My question was... why would you feed it to your dog when you were done?
Vets make money on sick animals.
Doctors make money on sick people.
Dentist make money on rotting teeth.
Plumbers make money on broken pipes.
HVAC companies make money on broken units.
List goes on, why trust those who make money off you when things go bad.

We recently switched fron canidae to taste of the wild, huge improvement in our animals.
But it's actually extremely rare, or at least that's what everything I read said. A little more common in developing countries, but sounded like nothing to worry about, especially if it comes from a grocery store, and not the market. Obviously I was wrong though. Either that, or just unlucky.
Oh well, not much I can do about it now, so live and learn I guess. So much for a raw diet, and (over)cooked meat only now. He seems fine though, acting perfectly normal with loads of energy, blood test yesterday checked out fine, and just came home with some eye drops. As long as Friday's blood test comes out fine, I figure he's in the clear.
I think he'll probably lose vision is his one eye, but nothing I can do about that now. I'd be surprised if he keeps it, but even if he loses it, that's fine. It's hardly going to stop him from enjoying a happy, fulfilling life. It's not like he has to hunt or anything, and he doesn't seem to care anyway. Still happy as ever.
