Do you give your dogs raw meat?

What I got from your story is that as a one off you fed your dog some raw pork you picked up from the grocery store and it got sick. Unless there's more to the story that you're not telling us, you've not even ventured into feeding your dog a real raw diet. It takes research, planning and effort and it doesn't only consist of meat.
I also see people here and elsewhere talking about giving their dogs white rice and boiled chicken. That's what you give animals when they are sick, because it's bland and easy on the stomach, but it's completely devoid of nutrients.
Did you make any sudden changes from one food to Orijen without slowly introducing it into the dog's diet by mixing increasing amounts into the old food? A sudden change will upset their stomach. Were you feeding the pup the Orijen puppy variety or the large dog variety? They sell 2 varieties of puppy food and 4 varieties of adult/senior.

This a quality food too.
First time I've given them raw pork, but have given them raw beef lots of times, and they've loved it without issue. I guess they've stolen a few live chickens from around the area, and ate them, so they've had raw chicken too. Still, eating a chicken that was alive 5 minutes ago is different than buying some chicken breasts at the store.
Nah, my decision is simply because I'm in SE Asia, my one dog (same one) has already had a blood parasite that nearly killed him, now might lose his vision in one eye, etc. I'll still give them good meals, like right now I have 1kg of beef sitting in the fridge for them. It just won't be raw when they eat it, that's all. Besides, they won't eat dry dog food unless I mix some raw eggs into it first.
Most likely, dog ticks from his mom, who lives just next door, because his mom got the exact same parasite. I guess it could have been the other way around, but I doubt it, as my dogs are far stronger than hers, and they also get flea medicine on the back of their necks every couple weeks.
Either that, or a raw beef bone I seen them both chewing on one time, but that's very unlikely.
I agree with you on all points, the raw diet though, is a terrible idea because 99% of people don't take the time, planning, research or steps to protect their dog, and then what I stated before happens.. It'd be like giving a kid a axe and saying chop down this tree without showing them how to use it, who do you think is going to get hurt?
Dog food wise, we feed him acana, which is made in the same factory as orijen, and is just a different brand. Our dog is still a puppy and Orijen's protein content is too high for him, even in the puppy variant. Acana has slightly less protein but is made from the same ingredients.
You also need to be careful if you're feeding your dog adult food or all life stages food (which is usually fairly similar to puppy food) and how fast you change over his diet.
