Multi-million dollar niche that's flying under the radar?

You're sarcasm is completely missing the point of all my posts.

I know several (read: more than one) people who have been moderators and/or editors for his business that are honestly tired of the 1995 crap of his business. His customers are screaming at the top of their lungs for innovation and a new mover in the market place. This guy, apparently has issues away from the keyboard, that keep him solely living off of past success and no one chooses to make a competing site in this market, even though his customers are SCREAMING for it.

Dismiss my ramblings all you want, but this is one niche I know. Albeit indirectly, but I know it nonetheless and people are ACHING for new tech to take it over.

Bleh, whatever - last time I bring anything legit to WF.

One look at google rankings and a small look at the sites should tell you the niche is freaking busting at the seams with profitability and is behind the times. #peasantproblems

peace.

OP, you've wanted to compete with this guy for years and you haven't? Nothing? Even with your above-average knowledge of the niche and total confidence in it?

Tell me you've at least got started in this niche that's freaking busting at the seams with profitability? If not, why haven't you done anything, even on a smaller scale?

Dude if you have such a hardon for sweepstakes that you're getting butthurt that people aren't blowing you slowly for sharing this info, why not take out a kiva microloan or at least start developing something on your own?

You want other people to take the risk for you so you can be like, hey I had a good idea and someone else proved it for me? You either don't really believe in the idea, or don't really believe in yourself, but in either case that's your deal.

Domain drop lists are paved with good ideas... gl bro.

Edit: Oh jeeze, this is a troll thead isn't it...

You want other people to take the risk for you so you can be like, hey I had a good idea and someone else proved it for me? .

And what the hell would that gain me?

I openly said at the beginning of this thread that I don't have the funds to get the custom programming together to organize all the sweeps and make them more user friendly and on and on... openly admitted peasant problems on that one.

I'm not spouting an idea to "look cool" - I just happen to know a market that I've been eying for a while that could benefit from innovation, a market that it's #1 provider is still running off of 1990s models and (based on the customers I've heard from) is being abused hardcore, that WF could crush.

Obviously I don't have the funds to do it myself otherwise I wouldn't have made a thread for assholes to call me a moron, and just done it myself.

If the end result is my ma getting a kick ass site to do her sweeps on, that she can integrate her facebook on, and all her sweeping buddies, and do it easier than she's doing it now - that's a win.

People are giving you shit because you're sitting around getting drunk with your ma on a thursday night. If you want to spend some time with your mom, what ever happened to just plain old dinner? That way you can go home and read some coding books for a few hours and actually learn something.

So you've come to "love & hate" people here since March 2013? It takes time to build relationships with people brah.

Outters Ball

Today's episode of "Outters Ball", we learn OP lives with his mother

If this isn't fucking outting, I don't know what is. OP and his mom are crying about being peasants. "If someone has extra 20-30K they could replicate it".

Fucking peasants, did you ever for one second think that if you stopped wasting your time as a customer/consumer of that site, You and your mom might be able to work hard and get that 20-30K (work another job??)? Wait, your mom is running "sweepstakes"? And can't even gather 20-30K after 10 years. #SoMuchFail

There is a reason you're a peasant. Peasant mode is not a monetary value. Peasant mode is a state of mind. You are thinking of it from the customer/visitor standpoint, not from a business owner. Since you're in peasant mode you can't see the simple flaws in your plan.

But to reiterate, If this isn't fucking outting, I don't know what is.

Carry on...

OP, if I am right about who it is that I think you're referring to, then I don't know how else to say this. But well... Screw you. The person in concern is a motherfucking genius. Period.

There are very few of us who're able to build such sustainable business models that print money like that site. Ever heard of the phrase - "Don't repair it, until it's broken?" Well that is pretty much what the owner(s) of that site are doing. They are NOT fucking with the site in the name of innovation, because you know what? It still motherfucking WORKS. They don't need to make any waves anymore, because they're still riding on the ones that they built when they launched.

And innovation doesn't always go well with the audience. (Read up on Failed Facebook Innovations, Google Product Failures) - while these big names have an addicted userbase, which is left with no other option but to continue using their services with usability glitches shoved down their throat by them in the name of innovation, smaller sites don't always have these liberties.

Try and comprehend your own words here -

The #1 site in this niche is running a business model that even 1995 would laugh at. Yet, he's still going strong and making at least 7 figures a year off his site.

Do you realize what that means? Do you? Why would they even need to touch it, if it still makes them 7 figures a year? Would you? Just because a certain segment is screaming about 'innovations'? Meh.

INNOVATION IS AN ASSET, NOT A LIABILITY.

This is a marketer's forum. We build websites. We are on the other side of the things. The side which concentrates on the building and the marketing and the business models and the revenue and the data. Try to understand these first.

This guy has been cruising along, under the radar in this niche, and making a killing for YEARS.

Do you realize the fact that maybe since he is NOT innovating, the radar never sees him?

She and I both think it's time for a little competition for this guy

And what gives you or your mom (with all due respect to her) the authority to say that? And even if you somehow conclude that the site needs a competition, you blatantly come to a forum filled with marketers and basically proceed on to out his disadvantages.

I've discussed his biz model in-depth with active users and I'm AMAZED at what he has going on and what he's getting away with. However, he's done nothing to innovate or protect it and his members are getting pissed.

So you're essentially wasting your time with discussing business models with other active users of his site, only to be able to post them on here? To gain what? Respect among the users? Well the above replies should have already answered your queries.

On a side note, OP. I couldn't care less about your outing. I couldn't care less about your cockiness. I couldn't care less about your peasantry. Heck, you could out one of my own sites here and I'd let it be. Simply because I know you lack the capability and the motivation to do anything about it.

And most big ballers, don't need a forum thread to propel their next research on. The site in question is a perfect example of an inclusive business model - a model which requires both online and offline endeavors. And judging from your attitude, neither is your cup of tea.

What bugs me is the fact that you're doing this ONLY and ONLY to get appreciated by this community. Which is a wrong train of thought. Atleast in this particular community.

Your reasoning for this outing is completely and utterly flawed. And needless to say, you disappoint me.

Edit - Oh! And this thread after this - http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/172215-simple-ideas-worth-millions.html? Bound to raise a few fucking eyebrows.

Well your right that is a horrible website.

I do not sense that the force is strong with you my friend. You need to stop looking outward and start looking inward. I sense lots of failure in your future.
