Today I made a strange realization:
As an online marketer, I might have accumulated some currency, but I'm as "powerful" as a toilet cleaner.
I always hear that people want power and money.. but so far I never gave a shit about power (basically I thought power was lame).
However, imagine you are a diplomat or a powerful CEO:
- when some shit happens to you, you might have connections to help you out..
(when not even the most expensive lawyer in the world might be able to help you.. e.g. diplomatic connections)
- when you need capital/loans for a business
- when there is war or people get raped like recently in Cyprus
I guess some of you guys even might have some online authority.
e.g. I could imagine if you are the owner of TripAdvisor, you have some "power" when staying in hotels
(or not even that).
ofc you could have power in the sense of connections to affiliate networks or offers, but that just doesn't really reflect in real life yet, does it?
Isn't that a tremendous disadvantage for all online marketers? :stonedsmilie:
