Rainbow 6 new villain is the Tea Party

It's a fucking video game.

And what's your point?

Is it just a movie... just a newspaper... just a book?

What specifically precludes a video game from being a suitable propaganda platform?

And you really shouldn't be basing your views on the fact that it's more likely, and therefore easier for you to believe, that a group of game developers got bored and latched onto the latest headlines to model their story line after, rather than the alternative...that's just bad logic.

He got called out, so he switched midstream from "it's clearly not about the Tea Party!" to "even if it is, it's JUST a game, so it's not important!"

Such nauseating shillery. What happened to men of principle?

It's so blatantly obvious that the creators/designers of this game are leftists who have willingly swallowed this regime's propaganda about "domestic American extremists" and are trying to "do their part" for the cause.

But as much as dchuk and his fellow leftoids bray about their objectivity, it's plain to see that they're really just useful idiots who can be predictably counted on to deny the communist coup occurring in this country right under their noses.

OP is right.

Although this video game company isn't directly related to the government, it's still foreshadowing a subtle shift in the media that will portray Constitutionalists, libertarians, free thinkers, and anti-government activists as dangerous extremists. Is there an agenda behind this game or was it simply trying to be "topical?" Who fucking knows.

Question: Can anyone list examples of government sponsored propaganda being pushed by a seemingly unrelated entity? I'm curious...

It makes sense in my mind that some of the most effective propaganda would spread from outlets that aren't seemingly related to the source.

No, it's not bad logic. My friend Occam can back me up on that.

It's a motherfucking video game. Do you think the developer's of Civilization are trying to prove that Gandhi was really a militant extremist? Or that Donkey kong was a separatist revolutionary gorilla?

Maybe, just fucking maybe, they designed an "enemy" that aligns with the headlines we have all been reading for the last few years. Maybe, just maybe, it's just a fucking video game.

It's a fucking video game.

"America's Army" represents the official U.S. Army game that competes with commercial offerings such as "Modern Warfare 2" by also featuring online multiplayer shootouts. The free-to-play game has become a more effective recruiting tool for the Army than all other Army advertisements combined, according to MIT researchers.

they designed an "enemy" that aligns with the headlines we have all been reading for the last few years...

The headlines? Did I miss some headlines where "patriot" groups were taking up arms against the government and shooting everyone?

Or are you talking about the propaganda coming out of the Obama/Napolitano/Holder machine trying to define "conservatives/tea party members" as "domestic extremists/homegrown terrorists" without a shred of proof?

Don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.

"They" being a bunch of game developers? Sounds like they are a group of guys who watch the news and were tired of making 3d models of A-Rabs and sand castles. You're sounding incredibly tin-foily today, it's a fucking video game dude. A video game from an old franchise that has focused on most contemporary military threats.

Your line of reasoning here is along the lines of "grand theft auto conditioned me to carjack people and run over hookers". Again, it's a fucking video game, literally every possible type of enemy has been or will be created in the name of entertainment.

To me, this game (and all the other similar examples in other media) speaks more to the effectiveness of the last few years of propaganda than it does to any government sponsored game development. They've done such a good job in the media of portraying Constitutionalists, Patriots, Tea Party, Libertarians and any other small government groups as homegrown threats that the developers (and movie/TV producers, editors, teachers etc) only find it natural to portray them as such. It's what they believe. The propaganda has worked.

And now the feedback loop from consumers of that media will continue as the populace regurgitates that shit back into the general consciousness until that belief is commonly held amongst the populace. It's not a new tactic and it has always worked well for governments.

I remember watching the news during the Colorado shooting and the Boston bombing and within the first couple of hours of the aftermath reporters from a couple of the main streams linked the attacks to the tea party.

In fact, I believe the guy in Colorado was mistaken AS a person with the same name in a Colorado tea party.

Same thing in Boston. While the country waited to see who it was, and the story was leaked that a saudi was in custody, the media still wondered aloud if it was a homegrown right-wing extremist.

You could feel the disappointment through the TV when in fact both cases proved not to be true.

But all the media needs to do is plant the seed of doubt and the public will take it further on their own. That's how these things spread.

No, of course not. But a video game where you watch a bunch of people wearing McCain/Palin 2008 shirts standing behind news reporters at some protest isn't very fun. Put some machine guns in their hands and you've got something.

Seriously, this is basically the rule for all video games. Put some machine guns in their hands and you've got something.

Great. Rainbow 7 better include the liar in chief obama armed with an RPG standing beside holder as the american flag is burning in the background.

Of course this would just be a harmless video game, as such nobody will have an issue with it.

"Tom Clancy has been a lifetime supporter of conservative and Republican causes in America. His books bear dedications to conservative political figures, most notably Ronald Reagan. A week after the September 11, 2001 attacks, on The O'Reilly Factor, Clancy stated that left-wing politicians in the United States were partly responsible for September 11 due to their "gutting" of the Central Intelligence Agency."

"..its important to understand why I was a Republican in the first place. Well for one, I read a lot of Tom Clancy as a boy. I can say from first-hand experience that as a kid, its difficult to protect yourself from prose laced with political subtlety. But, in retrospect, Tom Clancy’s tea party message was as subtle as the recoil of the main gun in a M1A2 Abrams tank, over which I suspect Clancy has expunged many a orgasm."

The games are based on the original novel he wrote in 1998. He never wrote a book where "patriots" are the enemy. He had nothing to do with designing this game. Your lies are disgusting, as usual. Whatever Obama is paying you, he should demand a refund.

Here's a perfectly sane leftoid who for some odd, odd reason sees what dchuk and you have some real trouble seeing:

Homegrown terrorists? Does that mean we get to take on Teabaggers, Fox News and Citizens United staff members, and Karl Rove and his Crossroads America thugs? I sure hope it means that.

So now leftoids can play at killing conservatives in the confines of their house and really act out their fantasies. Just some perfectly normal people who are getting really excited about the thought of play-murdering their political opposition.

Practice before the main event, perhaps?

Are you sure that Tom Clancy didn't serve in some type of advisor role for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots? At the very least, conservative Tom Clancy doesn't appear to have a problem with his name being used as a main selling point for the game.

There has been more than one game in the series and more than one type of bad guy.

The villains in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown, were "composed of various leftist, anarchist, and third-world organizations opposed to the West."

Others have been environmentalists, Marxists, and African Hutus. In two of the games the terrorist leader is a Mexican female.

Your lies are disgusting, as usual. Whatever Obama is paying you, he should demand a refund.

McCarthy was completely accurate about communist subversion in the government. In fact, KGB files proved him to be understating the threat.

By comparing me to him, you're saying that not only are you a communist operative, but that the conspiracy goes far deeper than even I could fathom?

What a hilarious indictment of yourself.
