China Calls For New Currency - THIS IS HUGE

If this happens, count the U.S. out. One could say it's a form of financial warfare, but they're semi-justified considering our economic policies. We never should have done the cheap-goods-for-buying-of-debt bargain and this is what happens.

This is most definitely big. Both Russia and China are calling for a new currency. They want to redefine the world order as it stands financially. If this happens and countries start dumping the dollar as a reserve currency, expect hyperinflation, massive devaluing of the dollar, and the plummeting of the U.S. as a superpower.

This has always been floated around, but the fact that China is openly stating this is huge. If this is official government policy, we are in for a world of hurt. Get ready for a world dominated by Russia and China. If you America-bashers thought we were bad as the world's 'policemen', you ain't seen nothing yet.

I don't want to overreact, but I see this as a huge development with regards to the current geopolitical situation and the world order as it stands. This is essentially a coup by Russia and China, and if they are successful, they will be the new hegemons.

About a new Russian/Chinese hegemony, I wouldn't get too uptight. Historically, they have NEVER been able to get past "frenemies", and I don't expect them to start now.

Russia desperatly wants an edge because their economy is crap right now, and China doesn't want to scare anyone with overt imperialism, so they'll just second any bullshit anyone floats that proposes to shift the world reserve currency in their direction.

About all that gold they've been buying...

This is interesting, I wonder if it is a headfake. There is no way the US government pays off it's debt to China. But I almost wonder, if this was the larger plan all along. If default is imminent, this may be a way of sliding into the new IMF currency with a minimal amount of pain.

I don't have a problem with you calling me stupid or a religious nut - that's why I asked whether anyone thought I was being alarmist. I'd like the U.S. to remain strong - after all, I live here.

However, I don't have a doubt that America's reign as a superpower ends the minute the world switches to a reserve currency.

So I guess my question is more whether they will go through with it. If you think this is just a headfake, like Guerilla does, I'd be more than interested to hear your opinion on it.
