I've been craving a good sci-movie lately, but can't seem to find anything. I like the usual stuff like Star Trek, battlestar, etc.

I really liked movies like Donnie Darko, Children of Men, Dark City, The Matrix.

Have you guys seen anything good lately? some boobs for your help...

I always thought Event Horizon was an underrated flick. It's hard to make a scifi/horror combo without going the default route of Unstoppable Aliens Eating Your Face The Fuck Off, but EH does a good job of balancing out cool (for 1997) special effects, traditional scifi character elements, the sense of foreboding while the characters piece together what happened to the original ship (not too much of a spoiler there, since the whole plot of the movie is "salvage crew goes after long-lost research ship") etc. Sam Neill is good but the end of the movie, especially his character, are overdone.

Still, a good watch the first time to be sure.

Sunshine is one of the best in my opinion.
The movie Danny Boyle made before Slumdog Millionaire.
The plot outline sounds stupid, but it's worked out very well.

Edit: ImagesAndWords beat me to it :)

Serenity's one of my all time favorites.

But Space get's all the glory what about the other frontier...deep sea? Or even better when deep space mixes with deep sea:

The Abyss
The Sphere

+1 Sunshine
+1 children of Men
+1 Iron Man
+1 Donnie Darko

Off topic - If you were to watch Star Wars (ep 4-6) today for the first time, would you think it's shit?

Discuss.

You know, about 12 years ago I was at my grandparents house during the holidays and they had a Starwars marathon going on. I was in the backroom watching it and all my younger cousins (the oldest one is 10 years younger than me) come piling in the room and say "Whatcha watchin?" I was flabbergasted. What do you mean what am I watching, hello the lady that just ran by in a white robe with braided buns on the side of her head and a laser sword in her hand??? but they had never heard of it. The watched with me for about a half an hour and decided it sucked and left.

dude those blotchy dinnerplate nips are pretty offensive in that first pic :disgust:
I beg to differ ;)

Lol, first time I heard of kids thinking Star Wars sucks. My kids have been huge fans since I first introduced them to it when they were like 5 and 7. Now they're almost 9 and 11 and they still obsess over it, collect Lego Star Wars and stuff.
