Let's build a massive list of successful entrepreneurs, of any industry, living or deceased.

Include a bit to describe who they are, and the character traits you believe made them a successful entrepreneur.

Here are some of mine..

Michael Moritz - the leading man behind Sequoia Capital; helped fund Google, Yahoo, PayPal, Cisco, and dozens of others. Running a large scale campaign takes balls, but putting down millions of dollars into a startup catering to a market that doesn't even exist - that takes balls of steel.

Elon Musk - An engineer that's also good at business. Founder of PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla Motors. He has an uncanny ability to run multiple leading-edge companies simultaneously, and still has time for hands-on engineering.

Cornelius Vanderbilt - adjusted for inflation, his net worth topped $160 billion, making him the wealthiest man in history second only to Rockefeller. Ruthless to his enemies, he'd undercut and outmaneuver leaving no opportunity to let them recovery. One of his greatest traits was in predicting market demand long before his competitors.

Larry Ellison - Co-founder and CEO of Oracle Corporation. Currently listed on the Forbes list of billionares as the fourth richest person in the world. Stubborn bastard and egomaniac but uses it very effectively. I really enjoyed reading "SOFTWAR" because at the time the book was being written he was in a major battle with another company. Since then, pretty much everything he said he was going to do has now come true.

Hugh Hefner - Besides the fact that he is 83 years old and currently fucking 19 year old twins (until he gets bored with them), Hef has done a lot for sexuality in america over the years. Plus he convinced everyone that his "nudie" magazine was classy and turned it into a fucking empire.

I'll think of more.

Steve Wynn - The guy who made Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Wynn Las Vegas, Wynn Macau and Encore. Wynn is the 468th richest man in the world

Markus Frind (PoF) - Just a hack who didn't get too big for his britches after building a site that could have grown like digg/facebook. He opted to keep it small while still making the monies.

Steve Wynn - The guy who made Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Wynn Las Vegas, Wynn Macau and Encore. Wynn is the 468th richest man in the world

That must suck to be as rich as Steve Wynn and know there are more than 467 people richer than you. (I say 'more than' because the Forbes list is not all inclusive)

Don't forget the vitamin water deal where he (allegedly) made 400+ million for owning a piece of the brand when they sold out.

Donald Trump: Ignore the family status before he started and ignore the real estate, he's built himself into a brand. That's something very few big names ever get to do.
