Anyone know where I can apply to be on one of the death panels?
lol...
Anyone know where I can apply to be on one of the death panels?
Don't forget about the "Be your own doctor" survival kit Alex Jones is going to sell. Free surgical knife for the first 500 orders.
On a more serious note, how can we rebill this?
If you infringe on property rights, you undermine the the premise under which you are claiming to act. That is to preserve the life and liberty of X, you will violate the life and liberty of Y. At the end of the day, it means you don't really care about life and liberty, you simply favor X over Y.
The collectivism you keep appealing to would mean that no individual can exist outside the group, and each individual has a higher obligation to the group than they do to their own life.
Since when is government/public education a good thing and since the fuck when is it "free"? It's probably free to you because you don't pay taxes, to others who actually make money the shit ain't "free". .
It's pretty clear to me that you have a severe case of black and white thinking. The real world has actual shades of gray in it.
I'm not advocating communism, but rather a balance of capitalism and socialism. Which is what we, along with every other industrialized country, already have.
You can go live in the woods if you want. No one's stopping you. You'll be free out there. Good luck.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand what a public option is really about. CHOICE not CONTROL. If your so fucking in love with the health care you currently have then KEEP IT. No one is forcing you to switch to a government-run alternative. Hell if anything you'd think having a public option would make the insurance companies behave a hell of a lot better than they do now. If your 100% happy with the health-care system then either you've never been seriously ill yourself or you've never known someone that has been.
It's an absolute fucking joke the way the privatized companies are run so why not accept the CHOICE of having an alternative??
Why are most republicans so against people having CHOICES?
Don't wish to hijack or start a debate, just wondering on what metric US health care is best in the world?
Looking at most of the main international stats (life expectancy, infant mortality etc), the US is sub-30s.
This is the mentality that most people in opposition of a public option have. God forbid you ever come down with a serious illness and fall into poverty when your so called "best health-care" in the world system denies you coverage.
Some of you sound like a bunch of old codgers grumbling about change. This bill is long overdue, and had reforms been put in place years ago we would have saved billions by now.
There are many members here living in foreign countries, and for the most part they are happy with the health care they receive that is partially or completely government run. I haven't noticed too much grousing at the cost because it's probably cheaper for them over all.
A lot of the rants are just Republican talking points and don't reflect what's really in the bill. Once this is passed you can get back to your business, and forget all about this. And you will never need to worry that the health insurance you're paying for now will be canceled on you if you get sick. Isn't that worth something?
The government runs the biggest rebill scam in history.
without destroying the best health care system in the world.
I didn't realize it was a requirement to pick a side and yell like a crazed baboon.
There is no point in arguing any of this because it just comes back to the liberty V. life debate.Well apparently not, because then this bill would not be needed. Right?
What? Health care is finite. It costs time and resources to produce doctors, hospitals, equipment and drugs. Those resources can be put to other use, if they are used for health care, then some other sector of the economy cannot utilize those resources.
C'mon man. We're nowhere near a world of no scarcity.
Two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner.
Democracy is just mob rule. It has nothing to do with individual liberty.
Do you support individual liberty and humanity? Or do you believe you only have rights if you are in the group with the most votes?
I only made the comparison because in a perfect communism you don't need to force anyone to share something, because they'll do it anyway, that's the ideal of perfect communism. What I'm saying is that charity is never enough, because not everyone is unselfish enough to provide for those that need help. There's still no point in arguing this because it comes back to the bottom point.Charity has nothing to do with communism. In communism, there is no property, and thus there cannot be charity. Charity exists only where there is property to gift.
I meant society is forced to choose between two evils. One of them is to preserve the complete rights of the individual (forsaking those in need), and the other is to ignore some of these (stealing as you call it) in order to provide for those that need help. I'm simply admitting that they are both wrong, but society has to choose either way.No one is forced to choose the lesser of two evils. That's nonsense.
No it means you care about the life of both X and Y, you're just prioritising life over liberty by sacrificing the liberty (but not the life) of Y in order to safe the life of X.If you infringe on property rights, you undermine the the premise under which you are claiming to act. That is to preserve the life and liberty of X, you will violate the life and liberty of Y. At the end of the day, it means you don't really care about life and liberty, you simply favor X over Y.
Can you point out where she claimed this? I just checked all of her posts in this thread, and didn't see it.
Government by its nature is inefficient and this entitlement will only make us all more dependent on our inefficient government. We are royally shafted and it will be extremely difficult to undo. The Democrats have screwed themselves this time for sure. The general public was against this and will have their revenge in the fall elections.
Now they get to tax me even more so that my money can go towards covering other people who I don't even know. If I wanted to donate to charity, I would do so, charity isn't something that should be forced.
If you went back and read all of her posts then surely you noticed the pattern of her always agreeing with the government, more specifically the left jacking from the rich to give to the poor.
Listen bro, it's the internet, she isn't going to fuck you, it's OK for you to disagree with her.
The people that are bitching at those of us that don't agree with the way that the left is passing health care reform, can you answer a couple of questions?
If it is such a great bill, why did Pelosi and the others have such a hard time even getting all of the dems on board?
Do you think it is right that in some cases it took "bribes" to get votes?
Do you think it's right that even though the majority of Americans didn't want the bill passed they did so anyway?
I don't think that there is a single person here that wouldn't like to see every man, woman, and child covered with comprehensive medical insurance. I know I sure as hell would like to see it!
However, I don't want to see it at the expense of the government reaching in and getting even more control over my life.
Now they get to tell me what an acceptable health plan is, If I don't agree, I get fined.
Now they get to tax me even more so that my money can go towards covering other people who I don't even know. If I wanted to donate to charity, I would do so, charity isn't something that should be forced.
Anyone that actually earns a decent living is already getting taxed to death for free school lunch programs, welfare, food stamps, medicaid, cell phones for the poor, fuel assistance. Where the fuck do they draw the line, when does it end?
We are not far off from the Federal Government telling us what kind of car we can drive to be inline with the new pollution standards they will no doubt cram down our throats soon.
It won't be long until the Federal Government is forcing our children to perform a certain amount of community service, Obama has already mentioned this.
Soon there won't be one single thing that we do, or one decision that we make that won't somehow be affected by rules, regulations, and laws that the government has put in place.
Again I ask, where does the line get drawn?
Just because on the surface something seems right, or for the greater good of everyone, doesn't mean that it is right. We are supposed to have a certain amount of freedom, and free will, but I'll be damned if all of that isn't slowly starting to disappear.
Well, if you're already paying taxes and medical/insurance bills, then you are already paying for little Johnie's injury
I love reading all the Eurotrash douchebags' comments here.
Not a single one of them have ever lived in a truly free society.
I suppose if you've never eaten a hamburger you are clueless to what you are really missing.
If it is such a great bill, why did Pelosi and the others have such a hard time even getting all of the dems on board?
That's politics. Just part of the game. Not like the Republicans never do stuff like that. Do the ends justify the means? Depends how you feel about the ends, I suppose.Do you think it is right that in some cases it took "bribes" to get votes?
I think a lot of Americans don't really have informed opinions on the bill due to all the FUD flying around. Besides that, some for the same reasons as the congressional Democrats.Do you think it's right that even though the majority of Americans didn't want the bill passed they did so anyway?
No one is getting taxed to death; that's pure hyperbole. On the other hand, people are actually dying because they can't get health care.I don't think that there is a single person here that wouldn't like to see every man, woman, and child covered with comprehensive medical insurance. I know I sure as hell would like to see it!
However, I don't want to see it at the expense of the government reaching in and getting even more control over my life.

There's different kinds of freedom. What about freedom from illness? Freedom from debt incurred by the cost of treating that illness?Just because on the surface something seems right, or for the greater good of everyone, doesn't mean that it is right. We are supposed to have a certain amount of freedom, and free will, but I'll be damned if all of that isn't slowly starting to disappear.
