LOST : No Spoiler Alert

Stop trying to justify it. It was rubbish. Think of it like a good sales letter and your typical CB adwords product. They've got your attention, they've told you a story, they've filled you with intrigue, you're quite excited to see more, then when you click the buy button you go to a page that says, "Haha, only joking."

That's what Lost is like. Loads of hype and overselling, then a product which fails on all fronts, answers none of your questions and gives you something else entirely. I want a refund.

You know what -- you're right! Most people, like your CB sales letter analogy alludes to, would buy the shitty biz opp cause of the great upsell. Many people would think it's rubbish and only looked great on the surface. Those who dug deeper saw what it was saying (buy adwords, link to products, make money), and would go on to make a bajillion dollars online.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.

The rumor is that Hugo is going to bump into Gilligan and they will use a coconut radio to contact a nearby yacht.

Gilligan and Hugo get off the island.

You people who keep bitching about it really don't have much else to do today, do you?

You so cool man you gotta have tons of frands.

Seriously, what the fuck is the point of your post? That we shouldn't be shooting the shit about a 6 year TV series that just ended last night? In a forum titled "Shooting The Shit"?

Nice ePeen.

I'm not the one calling people "simpletons" for liking the show. In fact, I'd suggest that a true simpleton would be the person who watches a show and has to be spoon-fed the answers in order to be satisfied.

Of course the entire plot wasn't laid out from the beginning. Several times the direction of the show had to change. Sometimes due to actors leaving (for example, the actor who played Eko wanted out of his contract so the writers had to kill him off... that changed the direction of the show completely)... and sometimes filler was just needed. The one thing that remained true to the show from the beginning was the character development, everything else was always second.

In the end it was a character based story. Not a sci-fi, not a mystery to be solved, not a philosophical debate... but a character based story. That's it. I debated and came up with theories over the past few years, just like most everyone else who watched the show, but I never, not once, expected to get any "answers". If you're complaining about not getting answers to the scooby-doo mysteries, chances are you missed the entire point of the show.

Let's just conclude this by realizing that some people are satisfied with loose ends and others aren't - neither side is a wrong approach and really isn't indicative of intelligence.

My two cents:

The ending was emotionally satisfying, but not intellectually satisfying.

Subigo... disagree with your post completely. To say "why would we expect answers" is ludicrious. The Lost teasers all this year have been touting "You want answers? Here they come" and "All answers revealed" - obviously even the producers know we expect answers out of this.

The real question you should be asking is if we the audience expected satisfying answers. In which case, it's a resounding "FUCK NO" across the board.

You died way too fucking easily, IMO.

This.

Also why is Ben not in the church? Everyone else is dead but him? That means the plane didn't make it back? Or is he alive forever now that he's on the island?

The man in black falls into the golden cave and INSTANTLY pops out the smoke monster. You would think that the electromagnetism did that to him and Desmond uncorked the island because he could handle it. But then how did Jack go down and cork it back up and not turn into smoke?

Also as mentioned the smoke monster died way too easily. All of that build up on him being godly and he gets shot and killed like it's nothing.

A few episodes back anybody notice when Sun/Jin died, the sub blew up and was sinking like a rock. It sank for a few minutes before Jack decided to leave and swim to shore. Damn he's got some insane lung capacity.

Alright there's no more point in arguing this. LOST ended with more holes than swiss cheese, I'm still not sure how anybody can be satisfied with them all being dead in the end.

You clearly don't watch the show with any real intention of understanding what's happening. Or you're extremely stupid. Ben still had "issues" to work out, that's why he wasn't in the church. He practically said so himself in the scene at the end.

Um maybe because there is only one "smoke monster" and the smoke monster was already inhabiting someone else's body at the time??

Also as mentioned the smoke monster died way too easily. All of that build up on him being godly and he gets shot and killed like it's nothing.
His "powers" were gone once desmond "uncorked the island". This was clearly evident when he and jack had that little scuffle outside the cave. Before he hit jack in the head with the rock jack hit him in the mouth and his lip started bleeding. He had an expression on his face that said "shit why am I bleeding". They zoomed in and made it very clear that he was no longer the all powerful smoke monster at that point. Everything changed at that point. Richard immediately started aging thus his first gray hair, etc. Did you even watch the fuckin show??

Like I said dude, stick to the south park re-runs. That is obviously more on your level.

At the beginning of this season, in the flash sideways, they showed the island at the bottom of the ocean. What does that mean exactly?

This.

I'm glad I didn't watch Lost. I'll just read the summaries and explanations and pretend I watched it like everyone else in thia thread. Its what I normally do since I don't watch tv. Saves me a bunch of time and I don't have to miss out on idle conversation.

Lol. Next were going to be talking about how far fetched, back to the future, the matrix, and all this other non sense is. ITS NOT FUCKING REALITY TV ASS HOLE. You mean superman cant really fly?????? wtf

The ending is very complex and may not be comprehended by just anyone. But I'll try and break it down: you all lost the last 6 years of your life.

Damn, the writers got ya there.

Better luck next time bros
