Ways you hustled before this

Oh man I forgot, I hustled in Diablo 2. Bought rare items on ebay for $100, trade them in game for stone of jordans. SOJ's would sell $5 a pop around school, so I'd double the profit easily.

I played EverQuest for 2 years during Scars of Velious / Shadows of Luclin. Level 60 warrior on 7th hammer in the top raiding guild. I had to quit right before Senior year of high school cus I was spending literally 14 hrs a day on it. I love MMORPG's but they suck the life out of you.

I made some good bank on Diablo 2 back in the day, used to own one of the largest online stores and had hackers that exclusively sold items to me. It was pretty good money for a 15 year old (over $2k a week profit).

I rode the "get paid to surf" wave and had a popular website that landed me a lot of referrals. Also I made bank playing Everquest in the beginning. When I was bored I'd hit garage sales, find junk for a buck, flip it on ebay for $20+.

5 years old - Mom would take me to Sam's club. I would buy boxes of candy for $10 and re-flip candy bars on the playground for $20 profit.

14 yrs old - I had napster and a CD burner before everyone else. Instead of buying a CD for $$20, you buy a burnt one from me for $10.

21 yrs old - I was flipping Wii's like a boss. Buy it for $250, resell for $450 on Craigslist/eBay. The was a huge shortage of Wii's, and Christmas shot up the demand. You had to wait in line for 3-4 hours Sunday mornings to get some. Not me. I paid Mexican day laborers to wait in line for me in the morning and would cut in. Every week was an easy $700 in college.

22 yrs old - Can't get into specifics, but it involved ebay and China.

I been had.

Selling replicas if you blow up too much better to go offshore in HK, get Chinese citizenship.

I will share too:

5 years old - Found $10 in the play ground. I pocketed it and spent it.
7 years old - Got tired of hustlin so I started stealing shit. Got caught.
11 years old - Sold ROMS & Emulators on floppy drives. Parent and Teachers give me a scare. Profit ends.
18 years old - Took nulled php scripts, recode and sell. Profits but pussies out when some people file disputes.
22 years old - niggahat

My biggest check from Alladvantage was in the $300 range which bought me my first playstation. Had to spam the fuck out of AOL chatrooms for days to get that one :D

ahhhh the late 90s...I miss em...

I remember running the bots all day....however was pissed off when earning was $50 only. FIFTY FUCKING DOLLARS FOR ALL THAT TIME WASTED.

6-8: My family was one of the first to move into this new development so there was a ton of construction going on. Sold lemonade/drinks to construction workers, easy 20 bucks for only an hour or two of work

9-10: Most of the construction was done so I graduated to selling drinks/snacks to golfers during the summers on the golf course right down the street. It went really fucking well for being 10 years old, could make an easy $75+ in an afternoon (no idea why the fuck you golf in 110 heat but meant good money for me). I even split tested signs in front of my drink stand to see which did best (course I didn't know what split testing was, but my "saving for college" sign did the best). This stopped when the drink lady that drives around the course got pissed and shut me out.

13-14: napster + broadband to burn cds and games for kids at school. did some candy too but games and music were way more profitable. also started a shitty geocities (or some free host) website and clicked my own ads. That didn't work out too long.

Also jacked a sheet of "front of the lunch line" passes from a teacher (dumb idea) and ran off a bunch of copies. Sold individual passes for a couple bucks each and got away with it for awhile. Then a teacher figured out and I got suspended.

17-20: played/toured in bands and started booking shows on the side. I was friends with tons of bands in the southwest and got most to play for fairly cheap. Could pull $500-$2000 easy each show, my best was right around $5000 (big show, couldn't do those as often). Also started my first form of aff marketing here, reselling t-shirt printing services to other bands I had connections with.

Just say you're in Anthem......

To anybody who cares:

Sold some illegal stuff that makes you happy, lazy, paranoid, talk too much, etc..You know what the fuck i'm talking about.

Anyways, did that for about 3 years until 3 fuckers invaded my apartment and robbed me at gunpoint. Asked me where the cash was, told them i put it in the bank. They never thought to check inside my fold-able table (The kind that lifts up and has secret compartments). Well, they tried to blow my fucking brains out, but the gun jammed.

Since then, I don't do that shit no more. Learned a lot of business sense, as well as some common sense. Use that in my everyday hustle now (SEO FTW).

Fuck you if you don't believe me, True story.

I used to play a lot, and went to all the big tourneys - regionals, nationals, the Pro Tours, and once to Worlds (where I met my wife). I did okay; but I was mostly known for some famous decks I created.

Hustling-wise, I used to buy Magic collections from people and resell on the newsgroups and then eBay when it came into existence, making huge ROI. I used to also go to all the Magic conventions and do lots of trading and almost always getting the better end of the deal.

Did a lot of the Get Paid to Surf stuff, getting people in my downlines and also selling signups to other people using PPC on Netflip.com.

And a bunch of other stuff I can't remember or one timers, like selling some online characters, baseball cards, and a few not so legal things: changing price tags on merchandise in stores, buying it for cheap, then turning around and returning it for full price, and "trojan horsing" stuff out of stores, where I'd find some merchandise with a big box with lots of room, fill it with smaller, expensive stuff, and then tape the box shut and buy it.

I played in a MTG tournament once, had a few hardcore friends. I rebuilt the World Championship Psycatog deck and used it in middle school during lunch.

I was the most badass nerd around. lol

P.S. I took it so seriously I used to keep my deck in a box in the freezer since it was a blue & black deck. Seriously. lol

I used to (and still do) hunt down solid gold from old ladies at yard sales, thrift shops and flea markets that I resell at a massive profit to the refiners.

Finding a solid 23 gram 14k gold watch chain in a Santa Rosa, CA thrift shop while on vacation: priceless.

There used to be a big market for ceramic vintage tchotckas that I bought cheap and sold for big markups on Ebay, but the higher fees and recession killed off this end of the business.
Nice. How do you check whether it's really gold?

I was a clown/magician from age 8-17 doing street magic/buskering to earn some money for my candy addiction.

I sold firecrackers in grade 8, but buckled under the pressure of doing something illegal and turned myself in to the principal by mistake.

In high school I wrote/directed sketch comedy plays to make some cash in the summer for buy an Xbox.

The year I graduated high school, I got an email from some dude in Pakistan who offered me some hacky sack samples. He thought I was a reseller - so I got the samples, they were cool, and I sent him $1000 (my savings, what an idiot I was) to get 3000 hacky sacks - which I then sold all through college locally to skate shops and then on ebay for free using an ebay glitch my dad found.
What was the ebay glitch, out of interest? Assuming they've closed it?

OK... how about this: What way your best day, PRE 16? Personally i used to steal warhammer stuff to order and once did over £300 (6-700$) in one day to order for a friend in exchange for some brand new K2 rollerskates!! Then i broke my arm.. end of skating career!
Same, in year 8, (minus the rollerskates) until on my first trip, I refused to sell a £20 figure to someone because they were being a piece of shit, the little shit told on me. End of that. And I would have got £400 for that one trip if it wasn't for that. How did you do it? I went in on one of those play days, where you bring your stuff, I put my stuff in a big ikea bag. Over the course of the day, bundled everything into that. Easy, since all the staff were retards, and there was only one security cam (pointing at the £1 tins of PAINT!) and no security barriers.

Anyways, apart from that,

year 5, age ~10, bought loads of toxic wastes (this really sour sweet thing) each day from a local newsagents, £1 each. Sold them at school, normally 20-30 a day, £2 each. Easy money, never got in trouble :)

year 8, age 13, warhammer, as above.

year 11, age 16, took textbooks from school classrooms, got my old ones, stole a couple (but not many) and listed on amazon with a friend. £400 in a few weeks, with barely any effort. I got expelled for growing weed shortly after though, and some retards who knew about it asked teachers if that was why I was expelled. Had to pay school back.

I'm now 17 in a weeks time, still hustling :D

Youngster:
lemonade stand with brownie upsell.

High school:
Traded accounts for the best zero day shit. Burned and resold at school.
Learned how to do piercings from my father.

Woodstock 99:
Bought cases of beer and ice by the truckful. Resold for 2/$5 all day long.
Also pierced.

College:
Rickshaw with cigarette and weed upsells.
Sold "travel certificates" for $5, with $5 on the backend when used.

Even during Chanukah, when the boys in each grade would play driedel religiously in a corner of the recess yard or in the boys bathroom for dimes and quarters, I had two driedels that had shaved bottoms so it would almost always fall on Gimel (the jackpot letter), but they were shaved down so that you couldn't even tell if you rubbed your finger over it or looked at it. Made fucking bank.

Holy shit, shaved down dreidels. You are in another league Jon.

When I was a kid I pretty much did legit stuff (mowing lawns, walking dogs, raking leaves, etc.) Damn New Jersey Jewish / Midwestern Protestant Farmer parents taught me to work hard I guess. Did pretty well though in the burbs.

In the early 80s a friend got a modem and we ran up a $1200 phone bill dialing into BBSs, trying to see what we could find, scam, etc. Too much watching "war games" I guess. He got grounded when the bill came, so we started using stolen calling card numbers, and somehow that was ok (parents decided on don't ask, don't tell as long as there were no more big bills).

Skipped years of bad fast food jobs by lying about knowing how to use QuarkXpress at age 17 and getting a graphics job. Had to figure that shit out fast, been in the computer industry ever since...

Started working for an ISP in 1995, did plenty well but lots of stupid missed opportunities too. At least the Internet is never boring.

this thread brings back memories when i was around 10-13, my mom would also bring me to sams club or costco and i'd get candy, gum, etc. our school had a snack bar thing, i would buy the same candy sold at this shop and sell it for less. still made huge profits, though. bought the PS1 and a 27'' tube tv with earnings. eventually the school found out and told me not to sell it anymore. had to go underground with it.

when i got my first job, i would lend at-the-age (16 or so) large amounts of money to friends that needed it, and would charge maybe 15 bucks interest on 300 bucks. undercut payday loan places, helping out friends. always got paid.
