Interesting, but some stuff not mentioned. Like all that quantitative easing puts loads of money into the hands of government cronies first, who use it to create commodity bubbles around the world rather than keeping US housing prices afloat. That ends up making the fed poicies even less effective than they otherwise would be, although as the video pointed out are going to fail anyway due to the facts of life of demographics.

Dent is like a bad IM guru... just telling the masses what they want to hear through his sales pitches. Lookup his stock picking track record... it's horrible.

I watched it but what exactly was his great insight into the future? Nothing in his presentation is a secret to anybody.

Dent has been wrong for years. His predictions are all over the place. He knows how to sell a lot of books but I wouldn't listen to any of his investing advice. A demographic trend forecaster, yes. A financial trend forecaster, no.
Watched it, the guy is thick. Take a look at the countries that didn't get fucked over (yet did the same lending practices), and you'll see why the market is fucked. Hint, government not doing it's job.

That is what he does -- uses demographic data to try and profit off the stock market and other investments.

I think people who judge information by the source are fools. Judge the information whether the content is good or not.
I have plenty of people I could hate, but it's a waste of time running around hating on this person, or hating on that person. I leave shit like that to guys like Insomniac, that think they are better than everyone else, and yet like to hang around with the "peasants", probably because it makes them feel important.

The government has a job to provide shared resources in populated areas (for example roads). They also have a job to regulate industry against greed that causes busts (for limiting real estate zoning, to stop the market from expanding too fast). Enforce industries educate consumers against unwise choices (such as chemical dangers). Provide immigration restrictions and national defense. And to deal with matters where industries otherwise choose not to (such as pollution.)

WF provides a fair amount of general and industry news. It also acts as a fairly good early warning system about niches to avoid or leave, based on how much of the community is slangin it. The BST section also provides that little extra SEO traction that some sites need.
However, WF as a source of quality, actionable information, is a fucking joke. I can count the number of users worth listening to on one hand, and it sure as fuck isn't any of the regular posters. The regular posters are a bunch of circle jerk SEO fags for the most part.
