So this gay webmaster is getting a new office and sure we're low on the space but I want it to look pretty swanky.

So here's how it is:
The room is 9' x 10'. (That's my cabin. The whole office area is about 550 sq ft, of which a cosy 90 sq ft is mine :p)

My table top is going to be a 1-inch slab of Amethyst.

I was hoping to get a herman miller embody but the import duties and transport end up making it cost me more than twice of what it costs in the US.
Leather sofa, leather chairs for myself and a couple for visitors (not the $200 chinese made bullshit, this is the real stuff - italian calf skin).

Bose 5.1 or Bose dock - still deciding on this though.
My cabin is small enough for a dock, a 5.1 surround would probably be an overkill.

An iMac (gonna get one) + macbook air 13"
I'm planning to get 2 x 40" LED TVs wall mounted in the wall in front of me to serve as extra screens (they'll probably be hooked onto a windows machine tucked away under my desk).

I'm still not happy with the setup of the computers, 2 x 40" LED TVs sure would look good, but is there something better I can do?
I was considering 2 x thunderbolt displays from Apple 27" for about $1k each - but it makes more sense to get 2 x 40" LED TVs for about $1k each.

If you guys have suggestions before I go ahead and lock this in, it would be most appreciated.

I'll certainly post pics once some progress happens.

seriously some pics would be cool? Are you based in India? and If so which city?

Save your money, and get some more space, then you can have a private office with a door on it. Once you have that, you can worry about impressing people who open the door to your office with an amethyst table top or whatever the fuck you want to do.

But all of that shit is ridiculous if you are out on the floor with a bunch of other people. Nobody cares.

Scrap all that shit. Invest in what you really need -- a diamond pen. Just imagine all the women you'll get when they see you signing your name with this bad boy.

I always look for call centers that were recently vacated...

Not as impressive as amyswhateverthefuckyoujustsaid, but prettier desks don't increase conversion rates or lower CPCs.

I disagree with a lot of the posters in this thread - workspace design is important, especially if it's where you spend a lot of time. I do like the 27" apple displays, but the difference is that the resolution will be a lot higher than the 40" TVs. However, I'd rather have the TVs so that I could sit on the couch, smoke joints, and still compute from afar.

So you are talking about sharing a tiny cabin then go into Herman Miller and Marble and shit.

I am confused.

This.

I wanted to go with "open plan" office last year but decided to wait a year more so my brother moves out to college taking his bicycle and tennis rackets from my mother's basement so I will be able to use this extra space for proper "office".
