Galaxy S5?

Do any of you get more production vs. consumption value from your phones outside of making phone calls? Honest question. I can't stand my phone and hardly use it if I don't have to. I just haven't found a whole lot of value from mobile app usage.

I'm hoping it will have 4K video recording like the note 2 does. If so I think I'll get one.

I do. I can get a full days worth of work done on it without ever touching a computer.

Phone: Note 3

No comparison of functionality with desktop vs mobile apps. Mobile apps IMO give you bare minimum functionality needed, beyond that I find more work gets done on a desktop. These phone makers keep adding more tech into the phones when they should be making them more durable with bigger batteries.

I don't use "APPS" but reading the internet, twitter and a couple other resources allows me to get some knowledge downloading done not sitting at a PC.

I`m expecting the S5 to be a side-step upgrade to anyone with S4. Probably some cool features and downgrades in other areas.

I have a S4 and enjoy reading on it, perfect for the pocket and to read. Could I go with a slightly larger? Sure... I read more than I use my phone as a phone that's for sure.

Turns Out Samsung Is Going to Copy Apple After All (AAPL, GOOG, SSNLF)

I've never owned a smartphone. Frankly, I don't ever want to own one. Even my "dumb" phone kills my productivity, which is why I keep it off and let everyone go to voicemail.

I'm glad I never got a smartphone just like I'm glad I never got into social media. I can do better with my time.

I wish I could be excited for their event, but after the gayfest they did for the S4 im not holding my breath.

Seems like every few months some company is coming out with a new phone, and everyone has to rush out and buy it.

How much do you guys spend on your phones a year? Sounds like around $4000 or so, with monthly fees and everything. That's a nice vacation to Bali for me.

I run mine past the 2 year date before getting a new one. It doesnt feel like an upgrade if you go from a hot chick to another hot chick, you have to wait for her to get fat and stop wearing make up before you switch her out.

$4k? That's about 3.5x more than what I pay yearly.

Get the Note 3 much better than the s series.

If the phone was under 6 months old it will resell for alot. Just add another 100 after you sold it and you got a new phone.

I'm planning on buying the Galaxy S5 and switching over from the Iphone, simply because I'm an old fuck who cannot read the extra small font on the Iphone anymore.

I think I'll stick to my S4. The day a company releases a smartphone which has decent functionality with a battery life of longer than a day, I think they'll be minted. But in regards to the first reply, apps can be helpful when needed - I use the GPS almost every week.
