This is like saying "BROS DRINK WATER", does it really need to be said? The idiots that don't get their kids vaccinated won't be persuaded by this thread and others already know it's good stuff... so mehhh

I don't even know whether or not we had a choice to get vaccinated as kids. I remember during elementary and middle school, every 3 years was vaccination time. Health clinic would come in, and during classes, kids would get called to the office in groups of 10, and we'd all get our shots.

This was in nasty socialist Canada, so I guess it was free, but nonetheless... I don't think we were allowed to object. I guess our parents could have written a note saying "do not vaccinate my son, TB sounds wonderful", but I'm sure it never happened. It was a non-issue.

The WHO believes that typical vaccines have a death rate of 1:100,000 to 1:1,000,000.

In the US , there are anywhere from 5m to 10m children/young immunized per year, each with multiple vaccines.

So, according to peer reviewed study as per the WHO, vaccines do carry a real risk.

In many countries, especially our own, the chance of dying from a disease (1 in <500 for polio, 1 in 2,500 for mumps, ect) taking a vaccine was a very reasonable thing to reduce the number of people killed.

So, in the US , how many people die from vaccines? No one knows because they don't keep those records, WHO stats would estimate anywhere from 10 to maybe 100. It's not alot, but they do believe they exist.

So, how many people die from polio, measles, mumps, rubella and other diseases that are vaccinated against? The answer is zero.

Well, what's the casualty rate from such diseases in the US when they afflict those who aren't immunized? Well, as of today I haven't found a single case of anyone dying from such diseases in 5 years ,even though hundreds to a few thousand of each disease are discovered each year.

So, risk of death from vaccine 0.1%
Risk of death from immunized disease 0%

Could we reach a point where a particularly nasty version of a virus is needed to be immunized against? Absolutely. Could the lack of immunization start causing death? Sure, but it hasn't happened in the US from my research at this point yet.

Know someone who died from measles last year, and and i know a dozen people who got it, 3 of whom ended up in critical condition in a hospital. it is definitely not a 0% risk, and in hotspots where a lot of kids are unvaccinated it is a substantial risk... like religious groups where they preach against vaccination. The safest thing is probably to be unvaccinated surrounded by vaccinated people, but if the vaccinated population drops under 95% or so the effictiveness goes way down.

Pay your taxes, trust in government, love your flag, freedom isn't free, education is important, drugs are bad but not if prescribed by doctors, ADHD, obey your parents and teachers, drink flouride and get vaccinated.

If you let your kid get this fucking disease to support your distrust of medical authority, you deserve a kroger sack over the head and a shallow grave.

Infant girl with whooping cough - YouTube

i got whooping cough at 17 along with a half dozen of my friends. We did a lan party where everyone had barf buckets by them because we were all coughing up every few minutes. That was about 2 weeks in so we were so past giving even a single fuck about it.

The first days were fucking hell. I thought i was dead when I had the first coughing fit. I couldn't stop coughing to breathe in, but there was no air in my lungs left to expel. I didnt know what it was. I was just sitting there feeling like I was dying, and thinking about how I really wished I had gotten some pussy before I died.

Jenny McCarthy Body Count. Just in case you want to hate her any more than you already do. Anyone who trusts a former nude model with no formal education or training over every single medical study in existence deserves what they get, shame it harms us all though. I too have seen others get whooping cough and it's no joke.

All this science shit. In childrens flue shot there is no mercury.

I will trust the fucking govt when they can get fluoride figured the fuck out. With studies from Harvard and whatnot there is still fucktards pumping this shit into our water, toothpaste, baby water in the grocery store, hell my daughters pediatrician prescribed it for her because we dont live in a fluoridation town.! I dont need science to protect me. I will squeeze aids, whooping cough, meezles, hepetitis, ebola, herpes and fucking jock itch out of my body with sheer will power. And if that doesnt work I will gargle with gasoline.

I'd take a 1 in 10,000 chance of autism over a 1 in 100 chance of death severe and/or disability any day.

And do the same for my kids.

That's assuming the anti-vac nutters are right, which, based on science, they aren't.

The cool thing about science, is it changes all the time when new information is presented. Not something you can say about the anti-vac nutters, they keep banging that gong louder every time evidence against their theory emerges.

fyi I made those numbers up. But the point stands, even if it was 1 in 101 to 1 in 100, still a safer bet.

Well dreamache,
enjoy watching these

Anti-Vaccine Body Count

And for those wondering, a lot of the anti - vaccine movement is founded on the 1998 work of a Dr.Wakefield which has been proven to be fraudulent .. oh, when?.. oh yeah.. 2002.

Andrew Wakefield - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Of course, a lot of people have never seen kids die or even suffer from pertussis (whooping cough), be disfigured by Thetanus, or scarred or dying of measles.
Count yourself lucky!

Now, these programs were started because the world has seen this suffering and wanted to end it.
We have the opportunity to make these horrible diseases history, to erase them from our world - or maybe we HAD the opportunity, as idiocy reigns supreme once again.

You are one of those making sure we keep those diseases around, dreamache.
Be proud of yourself - be proud.

OK, I'll get both of my daughters vaccinated because you told me to while calling me a dumbass for added affect.

There are a lot of things I see eye to eye on with you, but this isn't one of them. It's not a big deal, really. But I've tried to hear all of the arguments for why vaccination is evil, a "mind trick", if you will. And I'm not sold on that.

I think the evidence for why vaccinations are necessary is overwhelming.

Wow, I had no idea this is such a heated topic... Feels like an abortion debate up in here! Off to make some blogs on the subject...

-But first; I noticed that not a single person here has mentioned the realistic middle-ground between these two camps:

Some vacs are life-saving, like Measels vacs in Africa. Some are likely not needed at all, like Swine flu and yearly flu shots here in 'murika... The latter seem to be a huge profit center for big pharma and likely kill 1000x more people than they save.

Follow the money folks; There is no profit to be made in handing out measles vacs in African jungles... Therefore a good vac. There are BILLIONS to be made with seasonal flu vacs; therefore a bad vac. Use your common sense ppl!

The idea that we originally created vaccines with nothing but the intent to prevent some atrocious diseases that were killing our family members only to later be mixed with profiteering vaccines is one that seems a lot more plausible than "vaccines are bad, sheeples."

Unfortunately, I know little about chemistry or immunology to make a decision about which vaccines are good and which are money scams. But I know enough about marketing and dumb people to remain a skeptic when I hear groupthink ideas traverse the social media junkyards.
