Guest Blogging is Dead

lol. Absolutely.

It's still relevant here.

Maybe you have a bone to pick with Kaedus I'm not aware of. (I have no idea...)

I like to see these things posted here because they're current, and worthy of being made fun of.

Google modified the entire concept of "spam." Spam is email. If you have a shitty search engine, you have a shitty search engine. It's entertaining to watch google spin that shit.

No bone with Kaedus, I'm just giving him shit. He is cool in my book. It's just annoying to see people constantly give g more power.

I mean, soon enough Matt will be like: "Good webmaster's can take a dump between 7-9am. You must install the google toilet seat to verify this. If you don't comply, we'll fine you."... and if enough people put up with it, those who don't will be easy targets.

From original link... new post... Cutts talking...

Conrad, thanks for the feedback. I wanted to give people a heads up mainly because the practice has gotten so spammy. There are certainly reasonable and valid reasons to consider guest posts, but regular site owners should be aware of the risks as well. I was talking to a small business owner recently and she was delighted that someone wanted to write a guest blog post. She thought that her small blog was being validated, when in fact it was being targeted.

Such horseshit. I wonder how this guy sleeps at night, instilling fear in people who make $100 per month, writing their hearts out.

This was actually the topic of Foreskin's white board Friday, but then of course you guys knew that already. It's almost as if Cutt's has used some form of PR distribution...

Trying to read between the lines but basically: Guest Posting is pretty scalable and effective right now. We can't refine the algorithm because it's extremely difficult to distinguish good content from good paid content. Let's buy ourselves some time by warning people. We might even make an example of a website or two further down the line, before working out what we can realistically do.

Am I learning teh newspeak guyz?

Just wanted to add that personally I can't wait to see the shit storm this will cause in the office tomorrow. Think "cutting edge" SEO agency which definitely hasn't been using guest blogging for 90% of all links...

What also bothers me is how all of the ball lickers line up so fast. Cutts doesn't need his balls licked, but there's simply no shortage of takers.

I remember when webmasters seemed like people out there creating a new frontier, and now they just seem like a giant group of pandering pussies.

It's pretty easy to understand after you realize that the folks that pander to his bullshit are simply the laziest sack of webmasters you could come across. They would all be happy if putting in effort for rankings didn't exist, so everyone could sink to their level.

They are quite comfortable taking the "don't build links to manipulate Google" advice to heart so they can get back to circlejerking on facebook or scrapbooking or...starting Adwords campaigns.

Matt's job is to create fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the minds of every single person that does SEO. Here is how it goes - Matt Cutts sends out a tweet: We're taking action on hundreds of buyers, dozens of sites, & dozens of spammy writers.

Oh nos!!!

Next, the shit spreads like wildfire on the boards. - "Did you hear what Matt Cutt's just wrote on his Twitter?", "No way dude. That guy's a total faggot". "Matt Cutts can eat shit and die". All while people start shitting their pants. "Yo, dude I heard you shouldn't buy guest post anymore?" "Yo, did you hear...don't buy guest post anymore. Google no rikey."

Shit is getting ridiculous.

1. Lol @ the thought that Kaedus of all people doesn't understand guest blogging or the intentions of that blog post.

2. Lol @ greenleaves needing a potato disclaimer at the start of every new thread.

3. Lol @ leaving a footprint so that Google can identify your links as guest posts.

I can see you are right. It was I who needed coffee...

Imagine all these saps who want to get their author rank hardon for all their posts. Welcome to ez devaluations bitches.

IF G does put the kabosh on guest posting, then they should fix the fucking author rank fucking bullshit waste of time crap they made.

Dont they want to ulimately create accountability? They are almost there, but dont want to actually give anyone anything, always take take take.

Guest blogging is dead. Long live guest blogging.

You mean a shitty MFA that suddenly gets 300 guest blog posts linking to it as its only source of backlinks (and those sites linking to it are only comprised of guest posts and badly spun articles) looks a little too suspicious? *GASP!*

I have concluded that matt cutts has an ulterior motive for that post. Y U no /decay-fall-guest-blogging-seo

Looking at the KW density in the URL, I'm sure he is targeting the KW "guest blogging", which he already has #1 position. With a cpc of $4.55, I'm sure he is balling out of control now. Damn!
