Guest Blogging is Dead

The only safe way to get links is to build your own blog network that you totally control. Monopolies are never fair, and soon most people in the industry would see the Google tricks for what they are.

I think I’ve always been clear that webmasters can do whatever they want on their own site. But I’ve also tried to be clear that I believe Google has the right to defend our search results from low-quality or spam results in our opinion. So when I do a post like this, I’m trying to provide guidance on the sort of behavior or activity that Google would prefer not to reward. From where I’m sitting, there’s enough spam taking place under the rubric of “guest blogging” that I wanted to provide people with a heads up.

But you can always do whatever you like on your website, in the same way that Google is able to decide not to return a website in our search results if we believe it should rank lower or shouldn’t be returned.

Take care!

....Or if you have a web property with a lovely mailing list, you don't have to do the guest post giggle, you sell out your list a $1k a pop or rev share for a guest mailing.

Hell in my niche, co-reg has taken off like crazy, and nobody gives a shit about SEO anymore.

Just saying.

I got a guest blog post last week and now my dog is dead.

I was agnostic, dyslexic, insomniac most of my life until one day sat down to write a post about guesting.
That night I sat awake all night thinking about posting as a guest and realized that a dog really does exist.
Then all my ranks went down.
I slept like a baby that night.
Gracias Google.

LOL you got into a debate about link building with Michael Martinez from seo-theory.

That's on my bucket list of Shit Not to Do. He's not trolling, he just doesn't know shit from shineola when it comes to link building.

His link building for 2013 strategy guide gives pretty much no strategies and ends with the subhead of "Is link building dead?" lol...

Don't worry got your back bud. You have to use examples when arguing with simple minded folk like Michael Martinez.
