If we look at IQ scores though, Beverly Hills residents might be higher or lower than average, but not to a black or white extreme where everyone is either Einstein or a dumbass.

The point, I guess, is that someting like IQ scores often don't correlate much with viewpoints on particular issues. There is both intelligent people support and opposition to a wide variety of things.

100% agreed. We have high IQ and low IQ on both sides of the fence. Regarding overall health however, they are seem to be mixed up pretty badly. They are health conscious no doubts, most of them at least I think. On the other hand they are soo crazy about their look that they simply chose theories that suites them best (e.g botox and fake dicks and tits etc.).

I'm not saying they have higher IQ than average people. I'm saying only that in case of vaccines they have it quite right this time.

Because I don't want to turn this thread into another anti vs pro-vaccine thread I will shut just up but... it seems in this case of vaccines, they are doing better then the rest of people (as it comes from statistics, I don't know anything more about those celebrities).

Sure, vaccines had it place in history of medicine and the entire world but, it wasn't the best choice from the health point of view. But 60 years ago they did what they could and that's ok. These days we have a bit more knowledge about them and better choices. Unfortunately, the medicine became a business and here is where the real problem starts.

The only thought that seems to make sense is that they are so stupid that they seem to ignore things like risk which some smart people over analyze which allows them to edge out people who are genuinely smarter.

That's the thing. They are reckless and are the 1% who got "lucky". The other 99% got ruined. You don't meet them, so you don't take that into account.

In most fields where you can make big money, being able to always remember names and faces is more important than anything else. I notice the people who are best at that also tend to be very enthusiastic and appear to act on instinct - so they can come off as dumbasses many times. But trust is number one in all business so everybody goes with the friendly, enthusiastic guy who seems to have nothing to hide, even if he is a bit dim. That snowballs into success often.

It's also super easy to manipulate people if you're even the slightest bit smarter than they take you for - the dumber you come off the better you will be at sales, scamming, and other persuasion. Many times you meet the successful guy who you think is a total dumbass, but actually he is only slightly below average intelligence and is playing some long game with you.
