How many screens do you have?

15" Macbook pro and a Dell E248WFP 24" monitor. Ideally I'd like to get a refurbished 3007WFP-HC for $800 from Dell.

for years i shut my laptop screen while i worked off the 24". That was fucking retarded. I got a little stand and i can do way more shit now.

Funny how 15 year old technology has better color reproduction/gamut, refresh rate, 180 viewing angles, no backlight bleeding, no input lag and no flimsy construction/stand, no dead pixels, blacks are BLACK, white's are WHITE - fuck I hate lcd's...

1 monitor reserved for a small window for television/movie viewing, or iTunes, etc.
and general surfing.
1 monitor reserved for your browser with all your networks on the REPORT pages for a quick refresh.
1 monitor reserved just for email and IM correspondence
1 monitor reserved for dreamweaver, programming, PPC, etc.

Shit I'm already at 4 monitors and thought of a bunch more things.

It's not "cool" or "whatever", it's much more efficient. As said earlier, it has been proven that 2 screens can improve your productivity by up to 50%.

I have two screens for the desktop. Makes working easier. Openning two internet windows instead of tabbing between two in the same window saves a lot of time and irritation
