If you ain't stackin' you slackin' dawgs. I just recently went from a side by side setup to this and it's so, so much better. You're more comfortable and more productive all day. I don't know why anyone would need 3 monitors, but I could see the benefit of a 24 over the 22 I have on top now.

I need someones help.

I have an "ASUS P5K SE" motherboard that has 2 PCI slots, 3 PCI Express x1 slots, and one PCI Express x16 slot. My graphics card is GeForce 9600GT.

The graphics card sits in the only PCI Express x16 slot and has enough room for 2 screens.
How the hell do I put a 3rd screen? Do I need to change my motherboard to get another x16 slot and then another GeForce 9600GT?

You can't add a PCI Express x16 slot. You can, however add a video card to a free PCI slot.

Since you already have a 9000 series Geforce card, you want to get another 9000 series card to avoid driver issues:

There are PCI Express x1 cards, but newegg only has ATI versions. Maybe nvidia makes some as well.

I used 2 x 19" for about 2.5 years but I just recently made the jump to 3 x 23"

I've been a web Designer / Developer for about 5 years now, and when I got into affiliate marketing another screen was needed to keep everything organized.

BTW the extra monitor on the laptop is one of my old 19" I gave the other to a friend.

I run 2 30" Gateways at the office and 1 30" Mac at home.

I had to switch to just 1 monitor at home so there was a reason to go into my office.

For anyone who has 3 displays, does it work better than dual setup? How's your neck problem etc...? What's the ideal monitor model for 3 screens?

1 laptop. 1 20" HP widescreen
Two screens really has helped double my productivity. And looks ballin'
