The only thing that makes this iPad thing a complete failure, and anyone that considers them a techie an utter retard for buying into it is the lack of flash.
You guys are making points that only 1% of the consumer market cares about, So to say that the iPad will fail because of flash is wrong, 600k iPads sold already...I'd say thats not bad.
To me and, from the way it's been marketed, for most people the iPad is simply a toy, it's not a productivity device, it's just something people have been wanting for years, a computer with a good touch screen interface that's not huge and slow.
Carry it to school? No, I need something I can type my notes into. Typing on an iPad is *worse* than typing on an iPhone from what I've read.
In my opinion, it's not meant for DOING THINGS. It's meant for VIEWING THINGS.

Ram on the iPad will be the same as the iPhone, 256MB (type not determined)
Course if I wanted a full fledge computer I'd get a laptop.
Forget the old iPad and slate nonsense.
This is where it's at. (Particularly as shown in that first video).
dear god that thing is bad ass. I agree fuck both those other options... when the fuck can I buy this?
YouTube- Microsoft Courier interface demo HD
Why the hell would anyone want to write the address for a website in the url bar? Fucking have a hard enough time recognizing my own handwriting sometimes and now I'm trusting a tablet to decode my chicken scratch?
Ya the interface is slick and all, but it's nothing that can (and probably already has been) done on the iPad with the exception of the camera shit which would look ridiculous being done on a tablet.
Has anyone ever tried actually using one of those HP touch computers? They are a fucking joke. Tablet computing is about more then being able to use your finger as a damn mouse. Apple has it down pact. Sure if you want to take the "finger as a mouse" option then you can download one of several awesome RDP clients for the iPad.
Also the "wepad"??? Comon that's just fucking stupid. The UI sucks dick too.
EDIT**
Oh and on the issue of flash, a ton of authority sites have already made the switch to HTML5 since the release of the iPad. They realize that this IS the future of portable computing, and are adopting to the change. Adobe can whine all they want. Flash needs to go down with I.E 6.
right... why in the hell would someone want a productive device of the iPad.. gee.... Are you frickin serious? the iPad is basically worthless for anything work related. its designed for entertainment yet lacks flash support... which is buckets of fail. And I'm really tired of people bringing up html5 like its a flash replacement. Guess what homeslice.. it only replaces video. Flash has a fuckload of other functions like online games for example. And if you think a crapload of sites are going to switch to HTML5 and drop flash you are fucking HIGH... only 2 browsers even support html5 and it'll take a decade for the world to catch up (note how many people still use IE6) and if you think sites are just going to dump their users in droves just so they can work on an iPad you clearly have issues.
