iPhone Case Stun Gun -- Need Mo' Money

for people who want to carry a stun gun and already have to carry an iphone seems like a no brainer... As for Americans wanting to weaponize everything.. we don't WANT to its just we are full of crazy fucks that have no fear of the incredibly weak legal system and this product offers a NON LETHAL way of dealing with them.

Even if you think the product is stupid...(which I do not) you have to admit there is a market for this.

Pet Rock was stupid. Didn't stop them from making crazy money. Good luck

Wish you guys luck with this. Recommend getting an account in the Caymans though. Get as much money as you can before it hurts someone because the lawsuits will bury you. From an aesthetics point of view. It DOES seem a little large but then again that otterbox thing gets carried around so it MIGHT actually work.

Do you have some kind of disclaimer in case a drunken Sorostitute uses it when they shouldn't.

All kidding aside I wish you the great success but I wasn't kidding with the advice to move your money.

If you don't misrepresent the dangers in your documentation, you won't be liable for loss. It is not "safe" to stun someone but it is classified as a non-lethal weapon.

There have been cases of people being hurt with non-lethal weapons but the only product liability suits that win are due to misrepresentation of the product.
Also, investing in better product liability insurance is better than putting money in the caymans.

Yeah, there is a disclaimer that indicates the dangers. We are working with a personal defense company that has been making these types of weapons for 10+ years and they haven't been in a PL suit yet Over (20m of products sold).

Tasers don't taze people, people do.

Honest opinion

Video is weak as water. Spending all your time talking about and what you want is terrible copy.

Tell your story - quickly.

Show how it works - in real life. Shock some fucker. Let's be honest it's what people want to see and it demonstrates real proof.

Then pitch the life saving benefits to owners and their loved ones. Push the fear angle - you'll hate yourself if you could have done something to stop x happening etc

Then big picture vision.

Then close.

Profit.

Why does the guy robbing people in the video gotta be black?

Lol. $85 for one or $380 for family pack of 4. What a bargain
That is because we sold the first 100 at $85 and the following at $100. In hindsight we should have just started them off at $100.

Quality feedback. There are definitely some things we would have changed on the video but we had a budget limiting revisions and we just needed to push it out.

Learned a lot of lesson for future product development/marketing

saw it on cnn today and remembered the thread. congrats for your friends!
Nice! Thanks

CONGRATZ BRO!

I bet your ass is busy taking orders today... Let us know how it turned out when you get a second to breathe...
Going great. We are preselling so we aren't working on fulfilling yet.

The thing about this product is we have identified the internet doesn't reach our target market as much as we would like. Our conversion ratio is very low considering the views we have had. I believe its due to:
1. We are preselling and not actually selling
2. Our target market shops at Bass Pro, Cabellas, Weapon Shops, and other paraphernalia stores.

Once we get these things out in the market and get them on the shelves or big box stores, then the fun begins. We have a distributor lined up with a decent P.O and big distribution agreement in place that we are excited about.

Why does the guy robbing people in the video gotta be black?
Lol, we keep getting asked this. It's because the first part of the video is a reenactment and the guy that actually robbed my friend was black.

Just wanted to update w some info all in one place:
Thanks!

As of today, we are on like 20+ bigger online publications and who knows how many small. Just google "Iphone Stun Gun"

Local News stations right and left. I had a decent interview Friday on Fox Arizona and my mate has one on a Chicago station tomorrow morning.

saw this in my youtube feed and remember seeing this thread.

I wanted to say congrats , sourcefed is going to give you a lot of traction, but now I see that you've been covered by a lot of places.

Well.. congrats!!!

I've been seeing it everywhere too. Hell yeah, bro! I'm happy for you!

My only fear is that it's being covered for the sole reason that it's such an insane product.

Only time will tell if it actually sells well and becomes a viable business after the free marketing dies.

Thanks mate! We were super stoked to be featured on there. It alone lead to 20 sales instantly ($2000).

Thanks Chris. It's been a wild ride.

I think the gimmicky aspect has a lot to do with the coverage on our device as opposed to a stun gun on a flashlight (yes they are out there) but we will take the free press.

We know the YJ isn't going to sell like an otterbox or something like that, but we have had an outpouring of support all over the world. Distributors from all walks of life are contacting us to carry the product. (surprisingly quite a few from the Philippines).

The personal protection industry is a pretty strong niche and we think we will have a stable user base as long as we are careful in our growth and don't over-mfg.

Doesn't matter if even the Majority of the people think that it's an insane product though... This isn't a democracy, it's business. All that matters is getting those last 52K in time and that'll prove to any investors of the future that the customer base for this concept is big enough.

I believe it is; simply because those who use guns or personal weapons of any kind seriously truly believe that the best weapon you could ever have is the one that stays on your person the most... All others are insignificant, even.

Even a frigging tank... It won't be there when you need it, guaranteed.

So this publicity, crazy-sounding or not, is exactly what is needed.
