It's sorta unfair how awesome Slayer is

Pantera 5 Minutes Alone, I'm Broken and Walk are probably my three favorite songs by them. Great Southern Trendkill gets an honorable mention too.

Metallica has some good songs ehh either up to the black album or prior but overall I find them to be just ok. Longer doesn't mean better, and when half your album has songs that are 8 minutes or longer that's just a sign of lazy song writing or having a bad producer.

Give me your definition of a good solo. For me personally, I think that Zakk Wylde and Randy Rhodes were/are two of the best rock guitarists, Vernon Reid up there as well (the solo in Cult of Personality fucking smokes it!)

I think all the bands mentioned here are good tbh...can't understand why people argue over such subjective shit...that's all.

If you thumbs up a Maiden song on Pandora it assumes you want to hear all 4,000 of their songs 3 times a day. I've got like 2 Maiden songs thumbed up and thumbed up every slayer song they've played for me for the past 3 years and they still try to play more Maiden than Slayer. Gonna have to start thumbing down Maiden but I know Eddie would be dissapoint.
 
You know what you do if you like Slayer? You go to YouTube and type Slayer in the search box and watch their videos.

If you like Metallica you type Metallica into the search box and watch their videos.

If you like both bands you alternate typing each band name into the search box and watching their videos.

And then you type some gay comment about Justin Beiber on every heavy metal video you watch. Because as heavy metal fans we really care about that kid or could name any song he's ever sang.
 
I must have seen Slayer live over 20 times, amazing band, and Reign in Blood is the best album ever. I still listen to it all the time even after nearly 30 years, totally brutal. They were definitely better in the Reign in Blood era, but still kick serious ass even now.
