Moving all the time can be traumatic for kids. Better to have one place where they can grow up around the same people.
Don't agree - know a couple dozen it didn't affect. Every situation different.
Don't ignore your kids!
Hong Kong is the most westernized place outside of the the western hemisphere.
You can go weeks without realizing you're in Asia, except all the Chinese...
That sounds stupid, but hard to explain. There are pockets of communities which are predominantly caucasian, and you'll also meet a variety of interesting folks from everywhere. You're also in the center of Asia for further travelling. They even have an SES and Adtech show in Shangai, and a few in HK if interested.
HK has every type of food (mexican sometimes hard to find, but they have that too) No shortage of Thai, French, Italian food and whatever else you can name.
The one downside when I was there - not a lot of concerts with Western acts.
(Although they had the Rolling Stones right after I left - fuck!)
I'd suggest you go to HK for 1-3 weeks for a preview. PM me if you want info.
Why'd I leave? After about 6 years felt like it was time to return. But I'll probably go back at some point.
