Did Hugh really call you up and say, "Brad, I'm having a shindig at my place tomorrow night and I'd love to see you out there."

I call BS until I see the pic of you with the bunnies. :D

And not in a picture in some restaurant or conference hall, but the actual mansion...

Can we just get one of these sappy motivational threads stickied?

Yes, your going to fail. But thats why half of us are in this industry. Failure in this industry = buying a new domain, putting up a new website. Failure in another industry = closing down the store, defaulting on a loan, etc.

So suck it up and keep typing.

Are you talking about Hugh LOry the guy who plays House?

Here's the big secret - if you want to be a success, solve a problem. Don't be the 12 millionth person to serve up the same top 10 ringtones.

Do your research and figure out where there is a need that is not being met and fulfill it.

Here's a good excerpt on the "secret to success" from a speech by ex-Yankee pitcher Jim Bouton at Affiliate Summit East in '06: YouTube - Jim Bouton on the Secret of Success

By the way, Jim has written a best selling book (Amazon.com: Ball Four: My Life and Hard Times Throwing the Knuckleball in the Big Leagues: Books: Jim Bouton), won the World Series with the Yankees, starred in a movie (The Long Goodbye (1973)), had his own TV series ("Ball Four" (1976)), and invented Big League Chew.

That comment right there got my attention. I mean hell, I was an 8 year old girly girl not giving a flying fuck about baseball and I LOVED that stuff. Any product that can swing that (heh, really, no pun intended) is kick ass in my book.

Are you involved in a targetted niche? Too many fail because they get involved with a product that they think has great demand - well so does everyone else and the market is usually too competitive:) Its all trial and error! Good Luck!
