do any of you use supplements for your workouts? right now i just take a multivitamin, ZMA and glutamine, but i've been reading about other stuff like 6-OXO and 11-OXO and some other stuff. just curious to know if you guys have any recommendations (that are legal and readily available)

Stick to the basics

A good protein powder
Multivitamin
Creatine
and probably the most anabolic thing you can put in your body....food

The majority of the fancy shit is overpriced garbage.

So you're saying the stuff that effects your hormones is not worth it? 6-OXO is supposed to supress estrogen levels or something along those lines.

I would exhaust all your tried and true options first, like the ones I listed above, before trying 6-oxo.

why do you wanna mess with hormone altering shit like that? Who knows what it does to you in the long run... Just stick with slow and steady progression and be happy with it.

Yeah it probably works but why risk it?

I wouldn't even bother with creatine personally..

anyways, 6-oxo is mainly used by guys who are on a cycle to prevent the steroids from being converted to estrogen within the body.

Yeah right now I am just going through a 'cutting phase', and I read about 6-OXO and figured I'd do some more research. I appreciate the feedback because I definitely do not want to waste any money.

As far as creatine goes, how effective is it for enhancing strength during your workout? I have taken it, I went through the loading phase at first and all that, but I honestly don't recall much of a difference now that I'm off of it, unless I just can't remember clearly.

The positive effects of creatine on strength have been proven time and time again. Is it necessary? No, but it does help. However, there are creatine nonresponders, and you may be one of them.

You fell for the old "loading phase" scam I see. The "loading phase" was concocted by the supplement companies to get you to buy more product sooner. The loading phase is not necessary at all, just a marketing ploy.

What creatine did you use? Dose? When were you takingit?

There was a similar thread about this a while ago, and I mentioned that I've tried the NO-Explode stuff from BSN. It did give me quite the energy boost to lift a little more during workouts, but I've read some things about it that has me worried (too much use possibly causing vision impairment, etc.)

So for now I'm sticking to good ol' food + good protein powder + regular creatine.

100% whey protein shakes during the day.
casein shake before bed.
creatine ethyl ester post workout.
BCAAs pre & during workout.

+ fish oil, multivitamin, and glucoseamine.

i've tried no-xplode, all the caffeine in it made me shit like hell. i've looked into other N.O. boosters including straight l-arginine supplements. l-arginine alone didn't make a noticeable difference, and the rest just aren't worth the strain on your body in the long run, IMO.

stay natural. you will thank yourself later

QFT

Maximally take creatine or some proteins if you just can't wait longer. But I would stay miles away from all anabolics and steroids - they will fuck you up in the longer run.

Besides a multivitamin the one supplement I would def recommend is creatine monohydrate (powder not pill form). It throws my stomach off so I can't touch it anymore but if I could it's the one thing I would be using. Gives you a crazy workout pump and fills your muscles with water so be sure to drink a lot of water when using it.

Other than that just make sure to eat enough real food and protein especially right after your workout if you are trying to add muscle which is what it sounds like.

+ fish oil

I don't know how I compeletely forgot about Fish Oil, I take it daily too.

Most people don't get enough Fish, so supplementing with fish oil is highly recommended.

I wouldn't recommend Glucosamine, it is too pricey and the results are too inconsistent to make it worth the money, in my opinion. If you want a Joint Supplement then check out Cissus Quadrangularis. A lot of people I know are switching and actually seeing results in their joints.

WayneDog, you could have just had some shitty creatine mono. I would try it again (because it isn't that expensive), but from a different company and if the problems still persist then trying switching to Creatine Ethyl Ester. People with stomach problems have said they can use CEE with no problems.

6-oxo should be used as part of pct, not an on-cycle supp. it works well for what it's intended to do.
