It has been said before and Ill say it again. There too much shit going on here and if it continues, we'd be sitting on a forum like DigitalPointless. I remember coming here when the board was UberCool. Seems like theres a bit too much cocksucking going on now.

I was browsing through the BST today and noticed so much shit. Too much of it. Link mongers here would know what I mean.

Either I see an October BanFest coming through or the team steps up a bit to separate the fuckers from the noobz. WF needs to start scrutinizing its members now and its high time before this shit spins out of control.

I reckon there needs to be some sort of limit on noobs able to start new threads anywhere.... joined a certain time, and more than 10 non-banworthy replies.

The influx of idiots and bot posts is getting stupid.

A confidence trick is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. A confidence artist is an individual working alone or in concert with others who exploits characteristics of the human psyche such as greed, and the thought of trying to get something of value for nothing or for something far less valuable.

At the end of the day most of the scams are just US being stupid. I only have 200 or so posts but I have learned, by losing a shit ton of money, that I am not going to buy anything from someone who just appeared. There are a TON of high rep providers.

These Con artists arrive, make nice for a while, gain some iTraders, then drop a great deal. People jump on it because we are greedy and then find out it was a scam. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is most likely bull shit

That and signing up themselves again under a different user name, posting faux orders in BST and praise the noob provider with his 6 posts over the moon for their super awesome service. The content section does really need a trim.

$100 thread listing costs, + approval + ban for shit products and services. That'll clean it up, but Jon is the only one who can make that happen.

That would get messed up in the long run. Im up for a service fee but $100 per listing is way too much, maybe. What would really do wonders is a way to let service providers create threads in the BST only with approval. Review copies need to be made mandatory, threads need to be approved and service fees need to be put down.

Approval sucks considering that our mods don't get paid to begin with and will increase their workloads.

Just charge per thread started and let the free market decides who makes it out alive. Capitalism at its best.

p/s: Also charge per bump, I'm just not sure how much tho.

$20 per thread and $5 per bump maybe?

I think a good coder creates a neg rep insta-ban thing. Like if someone gets negged 3 times or so, with no positives, they go automatically. Once we get a spammer, a few people neg them and leave it be. Then the script gets run as a cron with a sql query a couple of times a day to ban members with 3 or so negs and no positives. And actually, don't set it as a ban, but set is as delete account and black list the ip. Job done.

It sounds a lot but just think of how low the competition would get and how long your thread would have exposure at the top for. The threads wouldn't need much reviewing since $100 cancels out most of the tire kickers/spammers/scammers etc.

I mean 10 threads a day 15 minutes it'll take max to review them, that's a $1,000 a day for the WF server piggy bank.

Also a 6 months membership, 100 posts, positive reputation etc would get rid of a lot of the BS that gets pumped into that place. Most of the sellers in that place are people who just literally join the forum.

You should be required to contribute something to this forum, before you can start taking out.

Otherwise you're right, this place will start looking like Digital Shit Point.

That's my take on it anyway.

Honestly? Just charge $4.95/month for membership. That would weed out about 90% of the idiots. That's all you need to do.

Dear -God-, I know you have the capability, please give this some additional thought. Your plan is vulnerable to exploitation by competitors. Anyone could get their competitor banned, in that setup.

That makes it easier to identify dishonest providers. When I see one-post wonders proclaiming the awesomeness of a provider, that provider gets wiped from my radar (fair or unfair).

The best way to gain confidence in a provider you haven't tried is to rely on a recommendation from someone whose judgment you trust. Anonymous reviews are meaningless (and lol at free reviews). iTraders are meaningless.

If I see a positive review/iTrader from guerilla, grind, or dchuk, that's something. Twenty reviews/iTraders from sock puppets mean nothing.

Buyer beware.

The biggest cancer on WF is the average ~1,000-posts-guy.

He doesn't make any money but he is hitting F5 on shooting the shit the whole day.
He probably is a mod or some well reputed member.
He probably has a day job and is in his mid 30s or 40s, frustrated and shows over-loyalty to this community. Also moralfag and generally a faggot.
If you make him butthurt he will cry to the mods and come at you with 10 more of his cancer 1000-posts-guy friends.
In best case: Has a running campaign netting him $100 per day and asks on this forum if this makes him eligible to quit his SEO day-job.

Can you relate?

Fucking whiner over here who just so happens to be upset that he can't make more money on free advertising of his services in the BST area because of the other competition out there.

Fuck off scumbag.

No but honestly
I think there are a lot of well reputed Members who are absolute losers and will never make it.
They account for the most posts in this forum which equals to crap.
How to get rid of those?

Make a $10k/month fee?

There's an equally greater number of faggots who sign up to a forum, they've just lots their day job, but instead pretend to be a player in the hope of acceptance.

Where did you lose your job from an investment bank? Please break down the value factor of a $10k monthly fee.

There are plenty of one post wonders. I didn't see any ban hammer contest on wf lately.. as far as I know few months ago SEOmike did da last Saturday ban party..

Charge $100-$300 to open a sales thread in the BST section. No stupid "bump" fees (too much shit to manage that way).

I'd gladly pay that much to be able to sell my services/products here. This forum has a great marketplace.
