Where to invest $50k to earn a decent % return?

I've been investing in prosper for about 5 years now and it has become 100x better in the last 2 years for one reason: market place - which allows you to sell your current notes.

Before the market place when you invested in a loan you were stuck for 3 years(unless the borrower prepaid).

Now with the market place you are able to list your loans for sale to the highest bidder. I generally invest a few $k every 6 months. Collect 3 months worth of payments and list them all for sale until they're gone.

I know it seems counterproductive to list and sell list and sell but that's the kind of person I am - I don't like sitting still. PLUS if you need to liquidate everything, you can generally get all your cash back within 2 weeks.

For best results invest in shorter (1 or 3 year) loans, small amounts ($25-$50) and higher/riskier rates(20%+). These seem to be the easiest loans to unload in the market place as most other investors shy away from 5 year/low yield notes.

I think that covered most of my prosper activity. :smilie_weihnfenster

PLUS DOUBLE REP!

Can you explain a bit more about selling notes please? You sell them for money owed plus some percentage of the interest - is that close?

I know you are looking for a handsfree investment, but I have learnt that it is best to invest in what you know best. Websites..

SInce you are into gaming, I would scour the SERPS and scrape the owners of successful arcades. And there are many 10 year old arcade sites with with tons of organic and traded links... Sites that never budge from their SERP with any updates. COntact them. Buy them...

There is no investment like a successful proven earning website.. Even on a buy at 24 months Profit, you still make a healthy ROI on your investment.

This is coming from a guy who trades and invest a lot in stocks and mutual funds...with very good ROI.

I would put a down payment on a 3 family house. Actually saving to do that right now and hopefully will save enough before prices start to climb.

Post of the year, really. What was I thinking?

Tax-Free Municipal Bonds.

I've been pretty happy with Lending Club returns with a Prime account, which just means they manage your account for you based on the risk and terms you specify. Those are 3-5 year notes, but they have a marketplace to sell them if you need to cash out (although I'm not sure how active it is). Spread your risk... maybe put $10k there, 30k in Munies, $10k in a new business venture.

Open a fixed deposit in a south asian country bank, they would give you around 15% yearly interest for a one year FD. Money comes with no effort. Example - HSBC

invest: 20k in gold suisse bars on ebay (I buy them all the time); 29,000 in starting some sort of business to invest only in yourself; 1,000 for 2 handguns (can never have enough guns, lols).

I guess the problem with my offer is I only need $100. What I need is richer guys that guide me to make my system grow bigger rather than money.
