Question to all the atheists?

So let me get this straight....

One atheist offends you, so you attack all of us? Yet we are the ones who are intolerant, wow you've definitely taken the high road here, god would be proud. I don't give a flying shit what you believe. Though, from my experience people who tend to believe in god are usually on the lower echelon of the intelligence scale. Of course there are exceptions. Though, in modern society, anyone who blindly believes in and fears a god of which(whom? lol) their lies no hard evidence of his existence... well to me, that man is a fool and often a sheep. That is my opinion..

It's not that I care what you believe in, this is just a response to your post. I don't attack anyone based on their beliefs unless they attack mine first (which is almost always the case)... this thread.. case in point.

On a side note, there are some theists that I have a profound respect for. They have based their beliefs on reason and at least some logic. 'A Case for the Creation' for example is great book that provides reason and even some evidence that a god could exist. Although fundamentally flawed, that book brings up some great points which are definitely hard to refute.

"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear. " -Thomas Jefferson

Russ, bro. Likewise I also only hate on atheists that push their belief on everyone. I thought most people would realize that, but now that I reread my magical OP I realize where the major confusion might arise from.

Were not so different, you and I.

Understood, I retract my rebuttal :)

I do think that healthy debate on the subject can definitely be a good thing though. But only for those who chose to participate.

I don't give a shit, and you can believe whatever you want. It's when I see it drastically affecting world politics that concerns me. When you have very powerful world leaders believing that an invisible man is helping guide them, and tell them what to do, then I get a little unsettled.

When I see churches dumping millions upon millions of dollars into propaganda against some same-sex or abortion bill, because they believe that's the wishes of an invisible man, then I get unsettled.

When I'm walking down the street in Canada, and some lady starts stalking me, and telling me all about God and a new church event they're having, I get pissed off.

When I'm walking around in NE Thailand where it's 99.98% Buddhist, and I see Mormons wandering around the street markets offering "free English lessons", then I get really pissed off. You show up as a guest in a foreign country, and proceed to wander the streets telling everyone their beliefs are wrong, and they should listen to you because your beliefs are better? Get fucked...

Totally substantiated bro.

If you muslim, christian, atheist, scientologist and you is preaching yo shit onto people you need to eat a large penis.

It seems then that we are in agreement comrade, scum that push belief must be sent to gulag.

religion is just organized trolling of millions of followers

I care what other people think because people like social conservatives like to impose their morals through laws and people like muslims like to impose their morals through explosives.

Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion. Luckily most of the population likes and does the same things atheists do, only they feel guilty about it afterwards.

Hello all, im new to these forums but i consider myself informed on theological matters, so i think i should start my posting on subject i have weight in. So first i want to ask both atheist and religious followers, where do you think humans need to create religion draws from? I know religious peps are going to start hating on the 'create' part but im trying to be real, its one the biggest theologic conundrums there is(in my opinion) that should be taken with some minor amount of seriousness.
I mean out of all the social traits we don't inherit like being able swimming, whistling, or back flips(which i used to be able to do when i was younger but some how forgot?). We instead no matter how distant of region we are in or even lack teaching still start praising what ever silly stone or a volleyball that gives us some kind of reward or inspiration to do ritualistic bull. In closing, i hope this post will be treated with a decent amount of troll if there is anyone going to pick on my nubish first off-topic post.

OP is a straight-up high-grade moron for not understanding that religious people make religious-based local, state, and federal government decisions of every branch. They get to decide what kind of research is legal, what we teach in schools, etc, etc.

This is why we care.

Grow the fuck up. There is no magical floating fairy-man up in heaven routing for you.

If you all lived in a cave i could give a fuck what you all believed.

Because humans are inherently weak minded. I know a countless number of people who have "found God" in their lives, but they all seem to share a similar experience. Before, were totally happy and content non-relgious folks, never went to church, weren't raised in a religious household, nothing.

Then they all hit a rough patch in life. Whether that was losing a kid, getting divorced, ending up in the poorhouse, or whatever. It was always some drastic, negative change to their life, and lo and behold, through that they find God. Our minds are extremely powerful, and when in despair, we will search for solace. If we can't find that through natural human compassion & love, our minds will continue searching, and will sometimes find themselves at a church, temple, mosque, whatever. They find themselves surrounded by warm smiles, and welcoming people who center themselves around one set of beliefs, and through that adopt that set of beliefs themselves.

It's still all make believe bullshit, but it does provide the solace and comfort they were so desperately searching for. All the while, the guys in charge of the churches are living the high life in beautiful mansions, tax free, etc., because apparently God simply isn't very good at managing his money and always needs some from you.

When'd I say I am a theist. You assume a lot.

Tell us how you really feel bro.

then why don't atheists hate on muslims only.

whens the last time you heard of a catholic (motivated by religon) killing people.

da crusades DAWG, DAT DER INQUISITION.

also christians generally dont pop out as many kids as muslims so if you believe in democracy then in the future the only real threat is islam bruv

Also kingofsp, a surplus of agreement i have with you.

Because it's not only muslims I fear. Christians may not be in the terrorism game (anymore), but they are still pulling some scary shit. Just look at the talking point of the top republican candidates regarding gay marriage, freedom of speech, limits of government power. Many of them come to their delusional conclusion based on some fanatical religious view and then try to implement legislation based on those twisted views.

"I look at the Scripture and I read it and I take it for what it is. I give more credence in the Scripture as being kind of a timeless word of God to mankind, and I take it for what it is. And I don't think I give as much credence to my own mind, because I see myself as being very limited and very flawed, and lacking in knowledge, and wisdom and understanding. So, I just take the Bible for what it is, I guess, and recognize that I am not a scientist, not trained to be a scientist. I'm not a deep thinker on all of this. I wish I was. I wish I was more knowledgeable, but I'm not a scientist." - Michele Bachmann

If you’re involved in the gay and lesbian lifestyle, it’s bondage. It is personal bondage, personal despair and personal enslavement.” - Michele Bachmann

Yah bro, I see where you're coming from. In one of my later, masterful posts I mentioned that anyone who tries to indoctrinate anyone, be it an atheist or a theist should eat a large dick, as suggested by Russ86 (god bless his soul, if he exists).

If it makes you feel any better Michele Bachman is a woman, and thus will not be elected soon. :Yahoo_29:

She also wants to ban porn, which I am sure will go over well. (inb4 rape rates skyrocket xxxx%)

So for now, our gay and dyke friends are safe.

Question to all the athetists as well... What do you think happens after you die?

Religion answers the greatest question of all: what happens when you die? Well you go to heaven of course and it's awesome. If you don't love god you go to hell. Kind of a no brainer when it comes to picking sides.

Once the cure to aging comes out religion will seriously tone down.
