To add to what other have said, most atheists are forced into caring what religions think because they've spent over a thousand years, doing what the fuck they want and dictating to all and sundry.
The fact is they do intrude on our lives. All the fucking time. The church is extremely rich (from lying to their unfortunate followers) and in some way want everyone to tow their line, because they say so. Fuck them.
It's bad enough having politicians telling us what to do, but when you start bringing religion into it I WILL stand my ground. If you're religious fine. Just don't go around expecting to have more rights than others, have a say in law and politics, expect tax breaks and consider yourself, in some way, above criticism and ridicule.
Practice it quietly in you home, but get the fuck out of the schools, politics and law.
you have been discrediting religion with facts, ok, no problem.
then what facts would you support your own not proven on a grand scale hypotheses with?
facts???? for what?
that big bang that led to life only on Earth?
facts of evolution that happened only on Earth that lead to living species?
why no evolution led to life on Mars or Jupiter?
why Earth got so precisely situated in space that anything beyond a few hundred thousand miles has nothing to live and impossible to survive despite evilution and adaptation to the environment?
why no single life was detected on a gazillion of planets and galaxies that Hubble can reach out to?
Lolwut? Do you have ANY idea how large the universe is? Do you actually know anything about the universe at all (Re: Mars/Jupiter comments)? Your post is naive in the extreme.
True. I'm just curious as to what Atheists think will happen after they die... I certainly don't want to believe I've been given life just to be put 6 feet under for an eternity...
No problem with dem durr edits durrrrr. durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Bedtime <3
Me personally, nothing. I'll be dead. Consciousness is gone. Awareness of all that has gone before will no longer exist, there's absolutely nothing.
With regard to believing your'll be 6ft under for eternity, well, it's kind of the wrong way of looking at it. It will be exactly the same for you as it was before you were born. Remember?
Heaven is quite a big gripe, why live your life in the hope of going to somewhere (Heaven) that might not exist? Why live your life, for the events following your death?
The world is incredible and is full of wonder and mind blowing shit. The very fact you exist is amazing. You have 80 years to live, why throw massive portions of it away in pleasing a possibly non-existent, jealous, angry man in the sky who might not be happy with you anyway or might not even exist?
