OP - I think you have got everything wrong about Islam. Islam is very tolerant religion if you know what it is. Some people make it look oppressive, but its their fault.
If someone keeps crashing a lexus, nothing is wrong with the car or the company. But definitely somethings wrong with the driver.
The only reason the west has negative perception about Islam is coz, the muslims are not behaving as they are supposed to be while following the Quran and the Sunnah and doing a lot of wrong things in the name of Islam. Its their fault definitely.

I have a small suggestion for you mate. If you think a religion is bad, then just don't say it in public. We all know each and every religion is great in their own terms.

If you are unhappy with your religion, just transform to any other religion you like without complaining about your religion.

Why do you want to be religious? Just be spiritual. Beleive in GOD. Don't act like.. It's your God, it's my God. GOD IS GOD. Hope there is no difference with the spelling though..!

It's as much a work and parental issue as a religion issue. His father is demanding he comply with religious tradition that he interrupt work 5x daily to pray, as religious Muslims do. The OP wants to work throughout the day uninterrupted, and doesn't like religion forced down his throat. The conflict likely creates more animus against the religion itself.

I think the OP has the right to define how religious he wants to be. His father should stop promising virgins, grapes and raisins and mind his own business.

Other then that Communism is a man-made fallible and false ideology, while Islam is the one true and perfect word of God/Allah, obviously.

If all the Ummah followed the Sunnah PROPERLY not only would the beauty of Islam become apparent to all, it would also become the cleansing

Islam is perfect? I BEG TO DIFFER.

Here's why:
The segregation of women, women are viewed as material possesion, men are allowed to hit women. Polygamy, apostasy and adultery is dealt with death by stoning, gays are hung to death, consumin alcohol is dealt with public canning (you kidding me?).

Mo. had more than 4 wives, married and had sex with a 9y/o girl while she was still playing with swings and dolls. Mo. killed a tribe of Jews when there was no need to it. what else.. uhh.. did I also mention that Muslims make up for 90% of the poor population in this world? without oil muslims have nothing, nothing in this world.

Look at what happened to Palestine, with money we figured Arab would've done something to help bring peace (not invade Israel but get rid of Hamas) but no. Palestine is being left alone, no neighboring countries are letting them in, not even the Islamic ones.

Look at Afghanistan. Women are DENIED the rights to education and healthcare, let alone the right to drive a freakin car. Here's a picture how women are dressed there. To think that we're already in 21's century..

There are extremists to every side. I've seen plenty of Jews and Christians who are this extreme as well. So to call out Islam by itself pretty much shows that you haven't done your research about Islam, nor have you done your research about other religions. Have you even READ the Quran?

No wait, do you even UNDERSTAND the Quran? You can read it all you want, but the main point is understanding it and making your own interpretations from it. God gave you a mind, use it. Don't go around googling Quranic Ayats and believing everything you read on the web, open the Quran and understand it yourself.

9.123: O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

From what I have been taught, those quotes you googled came during the time that Muslims were being prosecuted. So the Quran told them to fight back and stand up for themselves. Not sure yet about how true this is though (I'm currently doing my own research on religions, this will take me years and years to understand).

Anyway, you've made a lot of claims in this thread that obviously prove ot me your experiences with Islam and Muslims hasn't been so great, so instead of categorizing them, do some research and try to figure out what Islam is really about.
