im looking to buy a new pair of headphones. i've been using these sony earbuds for a couple years now -- they have really good bass and clear audio, but always fall out of my ears.

any recommendations on good full size headphones? looking for quality bass and crisp sound. i don't care about noise canceling. i was looking at getting the pair below but they look a little too bulky.

I've been using this type of Logitech Headphone with a mic for a couple years. I mainly got it for 2-way chat over the Internet, but it has very amazing sound clarity. I'm not saying it is better than a great home theater system, but it is close.

I often talk to people over Skype (also when dialing LAN Lines) and they say my voice is like I was sitting right next to them with no clarity issues. It's also very good for making video tutorials for clients because I don't have to go back and fix my voice to sound normal.

Fuck the Beats by Dre, they are humoungous pieces of amphibian masturbation.

For good audiophile quality over ear headphones that dont break the bank:

Sony MDR-V6

Costs 60 - 100 bucks and there are cases where people have used theirs regularly for over 10 years without it breaking. Fucking awesome phones.

Reviews

Sennheiser HD 555

Cost is 80 bucks and above, audio quality is awesome as well with great bass and non-tinny midrange and treble.

Reviews

Grado SR-80i

Cost around 80 to 100 bucks, great quality sound made by Grado, a studio audio quality company. These are open ended phones meaning noise from outside will leak in and sound from headphones will leak out. BUT, A. its not nearly as bad as it sounds and B. this provides it with THE BEST SOUND you will hear since there is no stuffy back wall for the sound to get muddled in. It will sound like you are there listening live.

Sennheiser are good, but if you want accurate sound reproduction you can't do better than Bayerdynamic. DT100 are the bollocks, but if you hate the look of them, then get some of their more casual headphones. The DT100 are the industry standard by the way.

I have the Sennheiser HD 515s and I love them, sound is excellent and I can wear them for hours and hours.

I got the skullcandy headphones with the battery powered bass enhancer..

All I have to say is wow, amazing sound clarity and extreme bass. These headphones are the type that go over your head, but I can literally sprint with them on and they don't fall off.. on top of that, they are extremely comfortable...

So yeah, I would recommend these.

^ and no, not an af link...lol

If you aren't an audiophile I wouldn't matter much about accurate sound reproduction, but I can vouch for Sennheiser. I had HD555's for a few years now and I still love them. I mix/master music, and they're decent at replicating sound for the price.

You can upgrade the HD555's to HD595's (a higher and more expensive model) by taking them apart and removing a piece of plastic which makes them sound worse than the 595s since its basically the same headphone minus these plastic strips (Dirty Sennheiser)

Even though the sound quality is awesome from Sennheiser, out of the TWO pairs I've had, TWO of them have broken, but it was easily fixed as I still had warranty on them.

Beats by Dre is overpriced, just like any other Monster product, but if you want to look cool/trendy and don't mind paying for inaccurate sound (overemphasized bass), go with them. I've listened to them, and my Sennheiser HD555 is close to and if not better than the Beats By Dre, and I got mine for like $99 USD.

It also depends if you are planning to walk around with them, or just keep them at home, because the Sennheisers I mentioned are strictly for a home/studio environment and you'd look like a tool wearing them in public, they have an MP3 player range which I haven't had experience with but check out the link below.

Sennheiser Headphone Range

As you can see there's something for everybody and I can definitely vouch for the sound. If you don't trust me just Google up reviews :)

We have had this thread about 3 or 4 times now I think. Hit up the search function.

That being said, the Sony MDR-7506 is great and can be had for about $90-$100. The V6 came after this model and is slightly cheaper. One thing to do with these or the V6 is replace the faux leatherette ear cups with the terrycloth replacement pads from Beyerdynamic made for their DT-260/280/290 models. They are a perfect fit and make a world of difference in comfort.

The 7506 is a recording industry standard.

If you want earbuds that won't fall out and that sound fantastic, go with Shure. Yeah, they are expensive, but worth every dollar.

wow thanks for all the great suggestions guys. i think im gonna go with sennheiser or sony (either the HD515/HD555 or the MDR-V6/MDR-7506). but yeah i guess i should'a mentioned im looking for phones' i can wear at home and in public/while traveling. are most of these over the ear headphones battery powered, or just powered by the jack?http://www.google.com/products/cata...log_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CDQQ8wIwAg

Powered by the jack man. None that I know of have batteries in them.

edit: Scratch that, I think Beats by Dre have batteries in them. The build quality on those has been described as "shocking" though, not to mention the exaggerated sound.
