ObamaCare Upheld.

I don't care if 90% of people agree that a healthcare mandate was needed, a majority consensus doesn't remove the gun from my back.

Yes of course. Such is life in the USA. We have lots of guns in our backs.

I just know today when it comes to health care people who pay their bills and have insurance are penalized big time. They pay 10 times as much to make up for the people who have no insurance and no money saved, and expect the health services anyway. On the "possible" bright side, perhaps insurance costs will come down for everyone, be more affordable, with wider participation.

Of course illegal aliens are exempt from this socialist crap.

Why you should you become an illegal alien:

1. No need to buy car insurance.
2. No driver license? No problem.
3. No need to buy health insurance.
4. Drive drunk with no problems.
5. Still be able to vote.
6. No need to disclose offshore accounts.
7. You will never be deported for being here illegally.
8. You can always apply for amnesty down the road.

Prices never go down with government subsidies.

Man, some people really like the State Kool-Aid. I had a friend ask me if I'm "anti-health care" because I oppose this, ha.

Let's take a step back and look at it. They're forcing us to buy something that most who don't already have it (insurance) simply can't afford it.

This is the biggest tax hike in history. I think health insurance is an individual responsibility. So what happens when the Government tells private companies that they can't refuse insurance to those who are sick or dying? Say I need a heart transplant that costs $250k, I already know this, I go in tomorrow, they can't refuse me and I cost them a ton of money...

...Insurance can't work without assessing risks. Private companies have to turn a profit. The Government can rob us to stay afloat. The State run exchanges will be the only option, the end game is total State control. At that point the State is pointing a gun at you forcing you to buy their insurance.

Doctors are already in short supply. When the State has a monopoly on health insurance they'll decide what to pay doctors. You combine a massive increase in demand for health care because it's subsidized with less and less doctors willing to take massive pay cuts and you quickly have an overcrowded system. It'll start with lower quality care, longer wait times and it'll quickly deteriorate into Government rationed health care. And then you're at the mercy of the State.

By the time the State has sucked all of the money out of private health care, they'll have to swoop in and take over the hospitals. They'll treat people with drugs from whichever Pharma company is the highest bidder.

It paves the way for the IRS to intrude in our lives more than ever. It sets the precedence for the destruction of our rights. They're forcing us to buy health insurance. What's next? Forced to eat Government food, live in Government "approved" housing, work in a "Government Jobs Program" if you can't afford your insurance?

The end game here is State control of the healthcare system. Why? It's 17% of our GDP, they can take it over and force us to pay for it at gunpoint.

And even if I'm wrong (I doubt it, Governments are predictable) the fact that they're forcing you to buy insurance, or pay a fine if you don't, that alone is an act of aggression, it tramples individual rights and sets a horrible precedent for how they'll use aggression against us in the future.

They're very good at selling lies. The War On Drugs, War On Terrorism, the FED is good for the economy, everyone deserves healthcare!

It's a play for power and money. The only winners are the State and those well connected to them. That's how Government works. They don't care about the people as long as they're producing tax dollars. They've got the masses brainwashed into thinking that the Government serves them, but if you look at EVERYTHING they do it's to expand power, turn a profit for a handful of people and condition the people to ever increasing exploitation and control.

They need to stay the hell out of free markets and our private lives. Every problem we have today can be traced directly back to the State. I'm getting really tired of the increased coercion and erosion of rights. Shit needs to change soon.

now comes the part where millions of small business can't afford the required health care costs and either go under or find a way to switch to work for hire.

Then, bring on the age discrimination as small businesses begin getting rid of older workers and workers with families who will cost a metric fuckload more than single 23 year old workers who will barely ever use their health care.

go dems!

go Gubment!
I agree with everything else you mentioned, but this isn't a red vs. blue thing, they're all corrupt pieces of shit, they're both playing for the same team, and it ain't ours. The two parties give us the illusion of choice. We've been running this country by the Bush Sr. playbook for 40 years. Clinton and Obama included.

So I guess I'm fucked, seeing I dont use health insurance and im "forced to get it" like im a fucking g dam car or something. Given I don't, I guess I need to pay 1%? Fucking bullshit... This piece of shit government can eat a bag of dicks.

you type the truth, I can't hate on the correction.

This does not feel like a voluntary relationship.

Also, I'm not even high right now, but does it seem ridiculous to anyone else that US judges still wear long ass black robes?

I'm a bit shocked that Roberts didn't side with the right on this one.

you must be new..

right/left
democrat/republican
liberal/conservative

im praying to god you copy pasted that, if not, brah...wait whut. you taking shit too serious

tl;dr didn't read shit

"New IRC code § 5000A states the penalty as equal to or greater of the following:

  1. 2.5% of the amount by which the taxpayer’s household income for the tax year exceeds the threshold amount of income required for income tax return filing under section 6012(a) OR
  2. $695 per uninsured adult in the household.
This penalty will be phased in from 2014 through 2016. "

They just HAD to throw in 2.5% OR $ amount... If only they'd stuck to $ amount I'd be cool with it, because at this rate $695 won't buy a damn loaf of bread in 2016...

So essentially we, as a country, are left with three choices that I can see:

1. Keep taking it up the ass like today, but at an increasing rate, until we finally choose option #2 or #3.

2. Elect Ron Paul or his future Clone (as if) and bring the temperature down... Of course there is still too much corruption in politics for this to fix everything, but for the rest of our lives it would make america more comfortable at least.

3. La revolucion.

Does anyone here see a fourth option? Option two has a very short shelf life and frankly I don't want some socialist shooting at my lily white ass on the battlefield of Detroit in a couple of years from now...

Edit: Before someone says: "I thought you were moving to Thailand" I posed the question for the country, not for me.

Option 1 is inevitable. The momentum is too great for anything else.

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe." -Thomas Jefferson

Option 2 is a pipe dream. We have been trading freedom for perceived security for decades now. No end in sight. Women especially will trade freedom for security any day of the week. Everyone yells freedom until that freedom gets someone they love killed and then they scream for more security, and harsher laws and punishments.

Option 3 is inevitable given enough time.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -Thomas Jefferson

There is no option 4 unless those in power decide they don't want to increase their power any longer or the system they created collapses upon itself and they leave for greener pastures.
