OP: "I want Pill X or something like it."
Many Reasonable Opinions In This Thread: "Pill X will kill you. Anything like it doesn't work well. Pill X has nearly ruined my life. You should figure it out w/o Pill X."
OP:
I LMFAO'd^

This just happens to be a field of my expertise. (Disclaimer: I'm not a fucking doctor. Don't listen to me. Consult your physician, blah blah.)
Firstly, I think I saw someone mention Des on this thread... So I just want to throw some stuff out there in case the wrong person reads this and decides they want a taste of it.
Desoxyn is used for treating ADHD, just like Addy's (Adderall)
For those of you that mentioned the movie
Limitless and NZT
:
Desoxyn is pretty much = The limitless pill for the average person. Amazing results, euphoria/happyness, increased awareness and interest, focus, motivation ... but over time leads to deprecation of health, addiction and abuse. In fact, it's one of the most addictive substances in existence.
It's also more commonly known by it's chemical name: Methamphetamine...literally (look it up)...just in pill form.
Seriously, if you aren't prescribed Des for a legitimate ADHD problem,
do NOT take it.
People who take/are thinking about taking
addy or des should know this:
Don't think just because people with ADHD take a medication, that you can too, especially if it's Des.
Amphetamine based stimulants have paradoxical effects on people who genuinely have ADD/ADHD (I say genuinely because some people fake or exaggerate symptoms to get a diag.) vs. the average person. paradoxical meaning, it calms me down, the opposite effect of a stimulant.
This 'theory' is commonly debated in the medical world, especially by doctors outside the field of psychology. However, I can tell you first-hand, it's true. Point is, taking Des to me would be like mild sedation + focus, for you, it's like snorting crystal meth. Addy however, is a slightly different story. It's still amphetamine, but it's not meth and not near as bad for the average person, in my opinion.
Obviously, with any of these, the biggest risk is addiction. I have very low susceptibility to addiction in general. I can drink, smoke, and take adderall and never form addiction. I am rare, most people are around average. This susceptibility is what makes the difference between a recreational user and a junky. Or a social drinker and an alcoholic.
The bottom line is, for people who don't have ADD/ADHD but just want something to make them more productive, I think that adderall can be a
good solution if used correctly and by someone who is on the lower side of susceptibility to addiction, knows their limits, and uses it responsibly. However, Des aka Meth, should never be taken by anyone unless prescribed.
Oh and to Dchuk - You will not find anything comparable, there is a reason it is not OTC. Your best bet would probably be to find a fly by night psychiatrist.
