Ok usually I stay out of these " all women are materialistic" threads but I'm going to have to step in here and say, Blame it on the woman if you want but you know what is really at stake here is your own ego. You KNOW you don't want to announce your engagement with a teeny tiny little ring. I think it's something both people usually want, even if for completely different reasons.
Let me tell you from the heart. I have been married for 8 years. I absolutely love my wife. I adore her. She is my best friend. I would not trade her for any other woman in the world. I wish I was not married. Think about it.
buy the ring in cash, saves the tax, and it saves the person youre buying it from taxes as well, you can negotiate with cash.
i bought my wife's ring with cash in the diamond district in NYC, i probably would have paid twice what i paid if i didnt come with cash
Did you know that married men live longer then single men....but married men are more willing to die.
From my father: "I got a saddle for my wife. Best trade I ever made."
Which is why I went for something that wasn't a diamond. Comparison's can't be made, and other people are all "oooh, I wish my diamond could do that"It's not about you or how much you make. It's about having something bigger and better than their friends!
Why, why, would you want to marry some bitch? Have other guys not taught you that it's just not a good idea?
Two years ago, I got a large 22K Egyptian cartouche on a 14k gold chain for $43 on eBay. How's dat? (I'm not a jewelry n00b.)...actually I was looking for replies more along the lines of:
"I got a .75 carat stone that was G SI1 set in a 14 carat gold band for $x."
Thanks for the replies though.
