I guess I just wasn't that surprised at the findings. There's over 150 million more whites in the country than blacks, so it makes sense that more whites get killed. I was just unclear about what you were implying.
As far as your main point, spot on. It's sad that black-on-black violence is so common place that the community only cares when the one behind the gun is some other race.
(The subtext being, "It's alright to kill blacks unless you're not black.")
With that said, you have to wonder how genuine all this outrage really is..
Consider this theory: By demonizing, marginalizing, and isolating foreign, external threats (especially ones with an oppressive, imperialistic history), the black community is able to divert attention away from the fact that much of the oppression they experience today is self-oppression. After all, if the system isn't traditionally oppressive anymore, that means their greatest threat is themselves. That's a tough pill to swallow.

Happened yesterday or the day before, a few miles away from Ferguson.
He stole some drinks from a store, put them on the sidewalk there and just waited for the cops to show up. When they pulled up he took out a knife and told the cops to shoot him.
Notice how he backs up some when the cops first get there. Probably so he has room to slowly get closer to them with a knife out increasing the possibility that they will shoot. But the cops don't seem to shoot at first because there are people behind him? He seems to notice this, because he goes up on the ledge and approaches from a different angle. He gets even closer and then they shoot and kill.
BULLSHIT.

Cops smoked a white chick up here last month. Husband took her to the emergency room cuz she was acting crazy and had a knife. ER personnel called the cops, cops showed up, she got out of vehicle and made threatening gestures. 5 shots later, DRT.
