Y U no talk about ferguson?

cops have a 'right' to be scared...

For the record, I don't think that bitch had a "right" to be scared, and if the prospect of doing her fucking job had her terrified to the point where she felt the need to draw a weapon at the slightest unexpected movement, she shouldn't have been trying to "police" anything more dangerous than a fucking coffee pot.

Regardless, I wasn't about to let Suzie Traffic Cop blow me away on the side of the road with a taillight in my hand.

Da fuq you reaching into bag for? Do that shit before you even pull over. Have all your docs in order, Turn on your lights, and put both hands on the wheel or windshield (10 and 2). You will never have any problem(as long as you're white) following this procedure.

My serious, mature take on the matter:

I have not been following all of the news surrounding this shooting. I really can't even watch the news anymore. It's the same shit every day. It's no different than watching reruns of your favorite TV show. You can only take so much before you burn out.

All I have to say is that it never ceases to amaze me how people on both sides of an argument will form opinions, believe they know the "facts", gather in mass and become violent when an investigation has not even been completed.

It was a long time ago. I wasn't much older than St. Mike at the time.

I will disagree with your suggestion that you look for things while you're pulling over though, b/c to the hero in the squadcar behind you it can appear that you are trying to hide a weapon of mass destruction in your glove box.

Both you and Dmn are correct.

I could honestly see myself doing what you did, simply because you're sitting in your car and comfortable, but I've never understood why people do this when a police officer is standing right in front of them with a gun already drawn.

I think my adrenaline would be so high that I wouldn't even be able to move. Is it because some people have had so much contact with police throughout their lives that they become desensitized to it?

I remember seeing a kid a couple years ago who was shot by an officer who already had his gun drawn when the kid reached into his jacket. He lived and said he just wanted a cigarette. I really can't see myself wanting a cigarette so bad that I would have to do it while someone was aiming a gun at me.

Priorities I guess.

you may be correct. I guess the answer is to store your "papers" in the windshield visor.

Just heard some breaking news on 100.7 The Viper in STL.

Dorian Johnson the witness with Big Mike Brown Jr. the day of the shooting has confessed he lied in his original testimony and now has said Mikey did in fact attack Officer Wilson in attempt to steal his gun.

If its true this is gonna be a real doozy! And he should be arrested and charged for all the looting and the people killed in the past 10 days!

Thanks for keeping us updated Sir Brian of Costello. Maybe you can defend Dorian and show the nation what being a Diplomat is all about.

PS. Where do you get your hands waxed?

Her gun wasn't drawn when I reached for the bag, once she drew it, I froze like a statue.

I now store all of my papers in a magic folio that my attorney-in-fact gave me. It simultaenously renders them invalid while also invalidating the authority of anyone who touches the bag, except for individuals who I happen to have a contract with, or individuals who spell their names with ALL CAPS and at least one ::.

Not even the communist Chinese think the behavior of the .gov is appropriate.

In an editorial for Xinhua, a news outlet described as “a ministry-level department subordinate to the State Council” whose president is “a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,” the U.S. is chastised for its hypocrisy.

The Ferguson incident once again demonstrates that even if in a country that has for years tried to play the role of an international human rights judge and defender, there is still much room for improvement at home.

In its annual human rights report issued in February, the United States assaulted almost 200 countries across the world for their so-called poor human rights records.

However, the U.S. human rights flaws extend far beyond racial issues. As revealed by famous whistleblower Edward Snowden, the U.S. government has hacked into emails and mobile phones of ordinary Americans as well as leaders of other countries, including traditional U.S. allies.

What’s more, Uncle Sam has witnessed numerous shooting sprees on its own land and launched incessant drone attacks on foreign soil, resulting in heavy civilian casualties.

Each country has its own national conditions that might lead to different social problems. Obviously, what the United States needs to do is to concentrate on solving its own problems rather than always pointing fingers at others.

Commentary: Ferguson riot reveals U.S. racial divide, human rights flaw - Xinhua | English.news.cn

Some might argue that racial differences and conflicts are unavoidable in a "melting pot" like the United States, where people from virtually every corner of the world converge and seek common lives.

However, it is undeniable that racial discrimination against African Americans or other ethnic minorities, though not as obvious as in the past, still persists in every aspect of U.S. social lives, including employment, housing, education, and particularly, justice.

Even though Dorian Johnson has been known to lie in the past, his admission that Magnificent Mike provoked the shooting by knocking the cop's eye out of his fucking head IN NO WAY EXCUSES THE FACT THAT HE WAS SHOT BECAUSE ANGER.

don't get me wrong. I'm no friend of the police, or the kind of shit going down these days with this 'police state' trend(?) we're seeing more and more. but i'm thinking if i was a cop and i knew there were millions of guns out there, i'd be kinda scared/nervous all the time. which is probably why you should be glad i'm not a cop :p . and also why i keep dreaming of a 'phasers on stun' technology to be developed some day soon lol

soldier trying to figure out how to turn off the arrested journalists camera. Clearly this man was a threat to the safety of the community.

What do the police in these situations say when asked why they are gassing and detaining journalists and their equipment? I can't recall seeing any statements being made where they explain the reasoning behind that.

They are saying they can't tell the difference between journalists and violent criminal rioters. Or with the big cameras, they say they are helping them move to a safer location.

Felons justifiably killed by police represent a tiny fraction of the total population. Of the 183 million whites in 1998, police killed 225; of the 27 million blacks, police killed 127. While the rate (per million population) at which blacks were killed by police in 1998 was about 4 times that of whites (the figure below and figure 5), the difference used to be much wider: the black rate in 1978 was 8 times the white rate.

Percentage of whites killed out of total white population: 0.0001
Percentage of blacks killed out of total black population: 0.0005

I don't know what youre point was UG.

Tonight there are some designated people with the protests who are making sure people stay on the sidewalks and keep moving. This is keeping the police away from the protests.

Some in the crowd are being openly hostile to people from the major press outlets.
